Politics Explained
Who you going to trust?

Democrat Party Philosophy
Make as many people as possible dependent on the government at all levels. Increase the numbers on welfare, school lunch programs, farm subsidies, after-school programs, etc. Keep adding more and more aid programs into the Social Security system. Force as many children as possible into the government indoctrination system, aka the public schools, so they can be dumbed down and incapable of thinking for themselves. Impose burdens on parents who wish to home-school their children and maintain confiscatory tax policies so parents who would like to send their children to parochial schools cannot afford to do so. Continue to attack the family by promoting the homosexual lifestyle, including “gay marriage.” Expand abortion on demand by eliminating the "born alive" laws nationally. Silence dissent by passing the “Fairness Doctrine” so talk-radio can be eliminated. Weaken national security with phony alliances, asking France for permission to do anything, and sending all our manufacturing jobs overseas. If unable to eliminate the Second Amendment, make gun ownership as difficult as possible, including gun registration.

Republican Party Philosophy
Give a man a fish and he eats for one day. Teach him to fish and he eats for the rest of his life.

The Things You Don't Crow About Can Sometimes Be The Loudest
The basic, fundamental differences between the two campaigns

It's no secret that The South-Side Stooge is in favor of allowing children who survive the abortion procedure, to be ignored until they conveniently die. In pain, cold and alone.

It's no secret that Joey Hairplugs is one of the most foaming-at-the-mouth mad-dog proponents of hacking to death babies still in the womb. The Plugged One is one of those responsible for The Silent Scream.

It's no secret that The Palin's knew their unborn child has Downs Syndrome, and they also realize that their child is a gift from God. Lil' Trig Paxton Van Palin is safe, warm and loved.

Then there's this --

Here's some of the article from PRNewsWire.com;

[Cindy McCain] visited Mother Teresa's orphanage in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where she saw 160 newborn girls who had been abandoned. The nuns handed her a small baby with a cleft palate so severe that she couldn't be fed. Another baby, also just a few weeks old, had a heart defect. Worried they would die without medical attention, Cindy applied for medical visas to take the girls back to the United States. But the country's minister of health refused to sign the papers. "We can do surgery on this child," an official told her. Cindy, frustrated, slammed her fist on the table. "Then do it! What are you waiting for?" The official, stunned, simply signed the papers. "I don't know where I got the nerve," Cindy said.

When she arrived in Phoenix, she carried the baby with the cleft palate off the plane. Her husband met her at the airport. He looked at the baby. "Where is she going," he asked her. "To our house," she replied. They adopted the little girl and named her Bridget. Family friends adopted the other little girl.

Last week in Vietnam, Cindy relived that time as she talked to a young Vietnamese mother at a hospital in tiny Nha Trang. The woman clutched a tiny newborn with a severe cleft palate. Ditching her handlers, she went over to talk with her. "Where's the interpreter?" Cindy said. In tears, the woman told Cindy that she had been denied a consultation by the Operation Smile workers because they feared her baby was too sick to be helped. "I had a baby just like yours," Cindy slowly told her, allowing the interpreter to translate. She played with the baby's tiny fingers, recalling that her own daughter had been written off as unsavable. She joined the mother in the observation room and listened as cardiologists told them they feared the baby might go into cardiac arrest if they were to operate. As the mother cried, Cindy, through an interpreter, told her that she knew exactly how she felt and patted her back. "That baby deserved a shot," she said, "just like Bridget did." In the end, the doctors decided to perform the surgery.

U. of I. sticks with plan for John Edwards speech
Student group paid $65,000 before scandal made news

A University of Illinois student group has agreed to pay $65,000 to bring disgraced former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards to speak at campus this fall.

The Illini Union Board is financed with a $14-per-semester student fee that goes to several student groups. The board's lecture committee chooses one speaker each semester and decided on Edwards last spring, said board president Leslie Cornell, a U. of I. senior.

Cornell said she expects Edwards to speak about poverty in the United States.

Monumentally Stupid Decisions Throughout The Ages...
In no particular order

Living proof that hindsight is 20/20, here are certain moments in history that one doesn't have to be a Nostradumbass to realize that they were really, really stupid moves:

Militarily ~ Hitler's refusal to retreat from Stalingrad.

Platonically ~ Wally Cleaver's choice of Eddie Haskell as a best friend.

Ecclesiastically ~ The Second Vatican Council.

Musically ~ Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.

Romantically ~ Monica Lewinsky.

Politically ~ Barack Obama's choice of Joe Biden for Veep.

But without a doubt, the Stupidest Move For The Ages, is John McCain choosing another rich, White male as his running mate.

Wanna Bet?
The odds are against him

Here's a bit from CNSNews.com;
Irish Bookie Lays Odds on Cliches in Obama's Speech

(CNSNews.com) – Irish bookmaker Paddy Power says Sen. Barrack Obama (D-Ill.) is the undisputed master of cliches this election season, and his well-known mantra -- “Change” – is sure to show up in Thursday’s speech when he accepts the Democratic presidential nomination. The odds are 10 to 1 it will, the Dublin-based oddsmaker said.

Which of the following cliches will Obama mention first during his acceptance speech on Thursday?

6 to 1 -- "I'm fired up"

12 to 1 -- “I'd like to thank my wife”; “as I stand here today”; “fundamental belief”; “defining moment”; and “God Bless America.”

14 to 1 -- “let me be clear”; “war on terror”; “politics of hope”; and “common purpose.”

16 to 1 -- “crossroads of history”; “I have a dream”; “pursuit of happiness”; “I'm fired up” and “building a better America.”

25 to 1 -- “we cannot lose hope”

100 to 1 -- “an eye for an eye only winds up making the whole world blind.”
Maybe that what Paddy Power says, but here's The Cavemens odds on what may be said tonight at his acceptance speech; 100 to 1 -- "Getchya freak on."

90 to 1 -- "...I have to check with Mr. Biden first."

80 to 1 -- "Do these pants make me look fat?"

60 to 1 -- "Workers of the world, UNITE!"

50 to 1 -- "Me so horny."

33 to 1 -- I... could... go... all... the... WAAAAAAAYYYYYY!"

25 to 1 -- "What, me worry?"

20 to 1 -- "I did not have sex... with that woman."

15 to 1 -- "Huh? I am not a bum. I'm a jerk. I once had wealth, power, and the love of a beautiful woman. Now I only have two things: my friends and... uh... my thermos. Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi."

10 to 1 -- "I want to thank my Lord and Savior, the Prohpet Moha.... I mean Jesus Christ."

4 to 1 -- "Ummmmmm..."

2 to 1 -- "Hook a Nigga up!"

It Was The Least Archbishop Niederauer Could Do
And that's exactly what he did... the least

As disappointed as I am that the American Bishops haven't followed up with actual deeds to their harsh words, I can't say that I'm surprised by this bit of news from the California Catholic Daily; (Emphasis mine) Notably absent from this episcopal chorus was the voice of the bishop from Pelosi’s hometown, San Francisco Archbishop George Niederauer. In a Feb. 4, 2007 interview on KCBS radio published in California Catholic Daily, Archbishop Niederauer told radio host Ed Cavagnaro, “Well, I have met on one occasion, with Speaker Pelosi, before she was Speaker Pelosi. It was last year. And I -- we’ve -- exchanged viewpoints on a number of things. At that time, it was last spring, and it was principally about immigration, because that was very much the hot-button topic of the time. We haven’t had an opportunity to talk about the life issues. I would very much welcome that opportunity, but I don’t believe that I am in a position to say what I understand her stand to be, if I haven’t had a chance to talk to her about it."

Now he knows.

Filled With Sound And Fury, Signifying Nothing
The American Bishops speak....

WARNING!!! Harsh language alert.

OK... by now we all know about Nancy Pelosi's diabolical statement that “I don't think anybody can tell you when life begins”. What bullshit.

OK... by now we all know that a bevy of Catholic honchos, the likes of Cardinals Egan and Rigali, Archbishops Chaput and Wuerl, Bishop Lori, etc, have been "correcting" Nancy Slice and Dice. And to a lesser degree (as I've already posted), Joey Hairplugs has been "corrected". What bullshit.

Here's the bottom line, fellow Bloglodytes, nothing will happen to either Nancy S&D or Joey Hairplugs. Nothing.

Archbishop Wuerl has a well documented history of smiling and looking the other way while "pro-abortion Catholic" politicians in Washington, DC receive Holy Communion. Hell, but the same goes for the vast majority of the American Bishops.

And yes, I'm very familiar with Archbishop Chaput's longstanding policy that pro-abort Catholics shouldn't receive Holy Communion. Or is that really what he said? No... it isn't. Want to know what he really said? Click here. But here's the gist of it; (Emphasis mine)
In an email sent Sunday to the Associated Press, Archbishop Chaput said Biden should following the teachings of the Church by opposing abortion or voluntarily refrain from receiving communion.

Not doing so would be "seriously wrong," he said.

"I certainly presume his good will and integrity and I presume that his integrity will lead him to refrain from presenting himself for Communion if he supports a false 'right' to abortion," the Catholic leader added.
"Voluntarily refrain"? "Seriously wrong"? Such bullshit. But I'll admit, Archbishop Chaput is tougher than his Ecclesiastical Brethren...but his essentially weak-kneed stance is kind of like being the longest putt on a miniature golf course.

Anyhow, don't count on things improving anytime soon. Not as long as we have gutless priests who say things like;
...but that he “doesn't want to impose” his views on others and often has voted with abortion rights supporters. He added that some of the other parish priests and the bishop of the diocese have spoken with him about his pro-choice votes, but that they have never refused him Communion, as some other dioceses have done.More bullshit.

Pelosi and Biden have NEVER been refused Holy Communion... PERIOD. And they never will be, either. Not as long as we have "leaders" who are filled with sound and fury, but signifying nothing.

And how sad that one of the few American Bishops who has a functioning set of balls, Archbishop Raymond Burke, is now in Rome. And for those that didn't know, Abp Burke is now saddled up with something call The Apostolic Signature, which is roughly the Catholic Church's Supreme Court. Here's what he said on the subject;
“If a person who has been admonished persists in public mortal sin and attempts to receive Communion, the minister of the Eucharist has the obligation to deny it to him. Why? Above all, for the salvation of that person, preventing him from committing a sacrilege."Mark my words... Archbishop Burke will be ignored by EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN BISHOP.

The day ANY American "pro-abortion Catholic" politician is publically denied Holy Communion, is the day I'll publically apologize to that particular Bishop.

In the meantime... it's all bullshit.

Liberal Media Bias??!!
Nahhhhhh!!! (Sarcasm off)

From FoxNews.com; (Emphasis mine) Media Matters

Pennsylvania Democratic Governor Ed Rendell is ripping news media coverage of Barack Obama. The Politico newspaper reports Rendell popped off during a panel discussion at a Denver hotel. It featured the moderators of the broadcast network Sunday shows. Rendell backed Hillary Clinton during the primaries and now supports Obama.

But that did not stop him from venting, "The coverage of Barack Obama was embarrassing... MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign." Rendell continued to say MSNBC's Chris Matthews "loses his impartiality when he talks about the Clintons."

CNN's Lou Dobbs, meanwhile, expressed a similar sentiment Sunday, saying on air, "My colleagues in the national media are absolutely biased, in the tank supporting the Obama candidacy while claiming the mantle of objectivity."
When people like DEMOCRAT Governor Ed Rendell and CNN Big Daddy Lou Dobbs start pointing out the obvious... you know the wheels are starting to fall off.

August 25, 2008 01:00pm

AN Italian priest is organising an online beauty pageant for nuns to fight the stereotype that they are all old and dour. The Miss Sister 2008 pageant will give nuns from around the world a chance to show off their work and image.

"Being ugly is not a requirement for becoming a nun. External beauty is a gift from God, and we mustn't hide it," said the Reverend Antonio Rungi. "Nuns are a bit excluded. They are a bit marginalised in ecclesiastical life.

Each nun will have a profile that includes a photo and information about their life and vocation. It will be up to each entrant to decide how they pose in a traditional veil or with their head uncovered.

Rev Rungi said nuns he regularly prayed and worked with suggested the idea of a beauty pageant to him. He hoped dozens of nuns would enter the competition.
I'm just freakin' oozin' external beauty. Ya think I have a snowball's chance in hell?

Will Viagra Help With This Years Presidential Erection?
Not if you've been diagnosed with Obamabiden

You can't turn on TV now-a-days without being subjected to the latest commercial for hedonistic self-worship, aka: Viagra. Is it any wonder that Obama-Biden is so popular?

Anyhow, leave it to Mrs. Caveman. As we were watching to news this evening, she said "Did you hear that? Say it fast; 'Obama-Biden', 'Obama, Biden', 'ObamaBiden', 'Obamabiden'. Sounds like a disease!"

Then she just got progressively funnier --- "Did you know he's come down with Obamabiden? He knew better than to be runnin' around on his wife... now he's got Obamabiden. His poor wife. Hopefully, he didn't pass Obamabiden on to her!"

But then we started thinking... what are the symptoms of Obamabiden?

1. The uncontrollable urge to spend other peoples money.
2. Hairplugs, lotsa hairplugs.
3. The inability to know exactly what's expected of someone within your pay grade.
4. "Hope" now qualifies as a plan. Nothing specific... just "Hope".
5. You are now in contention to break the world land speed record for saying "ummm".

Let's hope for our nation's sake that Obamabiden is only a short-term malady and not terminal.

Joey Hairplugs To Bishop Saltarelli: Screw You
...and so much for a certain priest being loyal to his bishop

According to the Associated Press; (Emphasis mine)
Biden attends Mass weekly and didn't miss it on Sunday, either, attending services and taking Communion at St. Joseph on the Brandywine near his home in Greenville, Del.Hmmm... interesting.

As I just posted this week-end, the Bishop of the Diocese of Wilmington, Delaware recently stated that so-called "pro-abortion Catholics" should not receive Holy Communion. Click here for specifically what Bishop Saltarelli stated. He left little to the imagination.

But here's the meat and potatoes of what Bishop Saltarelli said; "The promotion of abortion by any Catholic is a grave and serious matter. Objectively, according to the constant teaching of the Scriptures and the Church, it would be more spiritually beneficial for such a person to refrain from receiving the Body and Blood of Christ. I ask Catholics in this position to have the integrity to respect the Eucharist, Catholic teaching and the Catholic faithful."It's blatantly obvious that Joey Hairplugs has no respect for the authority of Bishop Saltarelli.

So here's my open letter to His Excellency, Bishop Saltarelli.
Your Excellency,
According to the Associated Press*, US Senator Joseph R. Biden presented himself (August 24, 2008) for, and received The Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at St. Joseph on the Brandywine parish.
In light of your statements** that;
"The promotion of abortion by any Catholic is a grave and serious matter. Objectively, according to the constant teaching of the Scriptures and the Church, it would be more spiritually beneficial for such a person to refrain from receiving the Body and Blood of Christ. I ask Catholics in this position to have the integrity to respect the Eucharist, Catholic teaching and the Catholic faithful."
Your Excellency, I personally find it obvious that Senator Biden has chosen to ignore (if not openly challenge) your Apostolic Authority.

As if that wasn't bad enough (if the AP article is factual, and I have no reason to believe otherwise), doesn't that entail that someone at St. Joseph on the Brandywine parish is challenging you, as well?

Unfortunately, it's increasingly common for members of the Laity to ignore (if not outright publicly challenge) their ecclesiastical leaders. But I'm sure you'll agree that when ordained priests who've taken a vow of obedience to their Bishop, choose to ignore said Bishop and instead to give the general public, via the national media, the unmistakable impression that these very same priests owe more loyalty to a politically leader than their own Bishop, then obviously.... there's something dreadfully wrong.

I pray that God give you the strength and force of will to admonish, correct, and possibly even discipline those who have sought to usurp your authority.
Yours in Christ,(insert name here)

Does This Mean Joey Hairplugs Will Try To Shove His Rosary Beads Down My Throat?
Is this the guy we want a heartbeat away from the nuclear button?

In an October, 2005 interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer, Senator Joe Biden was quoted with the following; "The next Republican that tells me I'm not religious I'm going to shove my rosary beads down their throat."Senator, I'm a Republican. And according to the Merriam-Webster on-line dictionary, "Religious" is defined as follows; (Emphasis mine) 2: of, relating to, or devoted to religious beliefs or observancesSo yes, I'm telling you that you aren't religious. You've knowingly made the conscience decision to disregard the basic Catholic religious belief that artificial abortion is murder. So by definition, you clearly aren't "religious".

Obviously, the title of this post is tongue-in-cheek, but it clearly illustrates that none of us need the likes of you to be separated by one degree, away from the largest nuclear arsenal on the face of the earth.

With that said, dear Senator, not only have I told you what you aren't... I'll even go as far as to tell you what you are -- You're a phony. You're a blow-hard. You're a big mouth. And ultimately, you're dangerous.

No Wonder The Media Has So Little Respect
If I call myself a hydrangea bush, does that mean I am one?

We've all heard it with nausea-inducing regularity from all the news networks: "Joe Biden is Catholic!"

I have yet to hear anyone from CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, etc, point out that Biden has de facto excommunicated himself due to his stance of slaughtering millions of children.

I have yet to hear anyone from CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, etc, point out that Bishop Saltarelli of the Diocese of Wilmington, DE, personally make it clear that "pro-abortion Catholic politicians should refrain from receiving the Eucharist." It's fairly obvious who His Excellency was talking about.

I have yet to hear anyone from CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, etc, point out that Joe Biden is one of the few people on the face of the earth that can actually simultaneously piss-off just about every possible faction in Iraq.

But the height of journalistic stupidity was when I heard Major Garrett of Fox News refer to Governors Kathleen Sebelius and Tim Kaine as "pro-life Catholics".

Random Thoughts For A Sunday Morning
Other than getting in the right frame of mind for Mass

Am I the only one who found it hilarious concerning; "So let me introduce to you the next President.... the next Vice President.... of United States of America, Joe Biden!" (Barack Obama, Remarks, Springfield, IL, 8/23/08)

Will the liberal "Catholics For Obama" Bishops get around what both Archbishop Burke and The Holy Father said concerning Holy Communion for pro-abortion politicians, by texting The Sacraments to Biden?

How great would it be if McCain chose Bobby Jindal, just so he could ask Biden at the Veep debate, "does your racist comments about Indian-Americans pertain to my parents... well, do they?"

If McCain chooses a pro-abortion politician (or a flip-flopper like Romney) for Veep, does that mean that all his pro-life rhetoric is a just a lie? We'll see, won't we?

Is Biden The New Cheney?
If 50 is the new 40...

When a certain 2 term Governor of Texas (that's eight years of executive experience) was running for President, be chose a consummate "Washington Insider" as his running mate (this individual served in various departments in the Nixon Administration, as well as Assistant to the President and White House Chief of Staff during the Ford Administration. He then served 6 terms as a Congressman, and after that stint, he was Bush 41's Secretary of Defense.)

But anyhow, the Defeatocrats got such a big laugh when Dubya chose an older Washington insider as his Veep.

Hmmm... so why is it that 143-days-worth-of-experience South-Side Stooge had a 36-year Washington insider chosen for him as his running mate? I think I know the reason why.

Is Obama His Brother's Keeper?
Half-brother, can you spare a dime?

John McCain may not know how many homes he (or his wife) may own, but does Baby-Killer Barry know how many shacks his siblings live in?

Yeah... sure. Tell me again how The Obamanation cares so deeply about the poor. Here's some of the article from The Daily Mail (UK); (Emphasis mine)

Barack Obama's 'half-brother discovered in Kenya, living on a dollar a month'
By Nick Pisa
Last updated at 12:24 AM on 21st August 2008

The youngest of Barack Obama’s half siblings has told of his shame about living in a shack and existing on a dollar a month whilst his brother plans to become the most powerful man in the world. With the Democratic Convention in Denver just days away, Italian Vanity Fair magazine tracked George Hussein Onyango Obama to
a 6ft by 9ft wooden shed in Kenya.

The difference in the men's lifestyles could not be more dramatic. Mr Obama, 47, travels the world with an army of bodyguards, whilst his brother defends himself with his own bare hands on the rough streets of Haruma, a Nairobi shanty town.

“If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related. I am ashamed,” George told the magazine. "No-one knows who I am. I live here on less than a dollar a month. "I live like a recluse, no-one knows I exist."

George, at 25 the youngest of Obama’s father’s seven children, has met his famous big brother just twice.

I Want The Focus On Me

We talk about Good Works, how Judas was a jerk
We talk about Your Church and sin when it hurts
We talk about the troubles You've been having with Mahony
'Bout his cronies and fel-onies and they're all so freakin' phony

We talk about The Cross, how Yo' Daddy is The Boss
We talk about Hell, and all the convents up for sale
The scourging You received, and that satan will deceive
And God knows, how the USCCB blows
You know worshipin' You should make me kneel
But I jump up and squeal

I want the focus on me
Want the focus on I
Want the focus on number one
Oh my me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like worshippin' You You You You, usually, but occasionally...
I want the focus on meeeeee (background singers - me, me, me, me )
I want the focus on me (background singers - me, me, me, me)

We talk about bishops who think they are Il Duce
But they're really just the Libs lil' attack poochies
We talk about people who through Mass just love to cackle
As they sit there with their backs to the Tabernacle
We talks about the bells, we talk about the smells
We talk about discord because the Pope is ignored
Love Your Sacred Heart, on a candle from Wal-Mart
And those crazy-assed nuns, and pilfered funds
You know worshippin' You makes me grin
But every now and then...

I want the focus on me
Want the focus on I
Want the focus on number one
Oh my me my
What I think, what

I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like worshippin' You You You You, usually, but occasionally
I want the focus on me me (background singers - me, me, me, me)
I want the focus on me meeeeeeee (background singers - me, me, me, me)
(I want the focus on me me- background singers) mmmm me me me me
(I want the focus on me- background singers) mmmm me me me me
You You You You You You You You You You You You You

I want the focus on ME!

I want the focus on me

Just Smile, Your Excellency.... Just Smile
Even more news from The Land of Fruits and Nuts

The California Catholic Daily continues to be a beacon of light in the ocean of darkness otherwise known as California.

Here's some of this rather disappointing, but predictable tale of The Smoke of Satan incarnate; (Emphasis mine) “An evolving relationship”
Catholic Charities of San Francisco committed to increasing “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender” adoptions

By Gibbons Cooney

On Aug. 2, 2006, Catholic Charities of San Francisco issued a press release describing their new “partnership” with Family Builders by Adoption, which calls itself “the gayest [adoption] agency in the country.”

The release did not mention that the very day before, Aug. 1, 2006, Family Builders by Adoption had just begun fulfilling a $1,755,000 contract with another “partner”-- the City and County of San Francisco. That contract required Family Builders to meet the conditions spelled out in the city’s “Request for Proposal to Provide Various Adoption Services” (RFP #309), issued on May 15, 2006. RFP #309 specified “Increasing the number of children adopted by Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender (LGBT) adults,” as well as providing, “The plan should include targeted recruitment of LGBT adults.”

We know what followed: Catholic Charities “doubled the staff” and/or provided $250,000 annually to Family Builders by Adoption; the archdiocesan justification that Catholic Charities would not be involved in placement, therefore cooperation was remote, therefore would not violate Church teaching against placing children in “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender” households; the promise that this was part of a larger adoption program that would also include outreach to Catholic parishes which has never happened, to the best of my knowledge. Given the dilemma that Catholic Charities faces between being faithful to Church teaching and being able to accept public funding, it probably could not happen. But the contract between the City and County of San Francisco and Family Builders shows beyond doubt that, once Catholic Charities supplied staff to FBA, it was committing itself not just to tolerating but to increasing the number of children placed in “Lesbian Gay Bisexual & Transgender” households.

“It is a privilege to be working with Jill Jacobs and the Family Builders team,” said Brian Cahill, executive director of Catholic Charities, in a Catholic Charities press release dated Aug. 2, 2006. And why wouldn’t Mr. Cahill be happy? According to the office of the California Secretary of State, just about five months before, on March 20, 2006, Mr. Cahill donated $100 to the “Equality for All PAC” -- an organization dedicated to the legalization of same-sex “marriage.” And why wouldn’t Dr. Motola, the openly homosexual director of Programs and Services at Catholic Charities, be happy? He was a board member over at Family Builders, and he and his boyfriend Mark Walden had adopted a child in 2000. And why wouldn’t current Catholic Charities treasurer and board member Nanette Lee Miller be happy? She’s the open lesbian who “married” another woman in 2004, and who currently sits on the advisory board of the Horizons Foundation, which has given $100,000 to “Equality California” so far this year. Even Archbishop George Niederauer said he was happy about it, which suggests the possibility that he may not have known all the details.

Here'a Another Reason For Most Of The USCCB To Ignore Rome
All that inconvenient overt Catholicism

Keep in mind that the top three names being bandied about as Butcher Barry's Veep selection, are all so-called "pro-choice Catholics". Governors Kathleen Sebelius (Kansas) and Tim Kaine (Virginia), and Senator Joe Biden (Delaware).

Here some of the article from the Catholic News Agency; (Emphasis mine) Catholics who support abortion should not receive Communion, says Archbishop Burke

Rome, Aug 19, 2008 (CNA).- The prefect of the Apostolic Signature, Archbishop Raymond Burke, said this week that Catholics, especially politicians who publicly defend abortion, should not receive Communion, and that ministers of Communion should be responsibly charitable in denying it to them if they ask for it, “until they have reformed their lives.”

In an interview with the magazine, Radici Christiane, Archbishop Burke pointed out that there is often a lack of reverence at Mass when receiving Communion. “Receiving the Body and Blood of Christ unworthily is a sacrilege,” he warned.
“If it is done deliberately in mortal sin it is a sacrilege.”

To illustrate his point, he referred to “public officials who, with knowledge and consent, uphold actions that are against the Divine and Eternal moral law. For example, if they support abortion, which entails the taking of innocent and defenseless human lives. A person who commits sin in this way should be publicly admonished in such a way as to not receive Communion until he or she has reformed his life,” the archbishop said.

“If a person who has been admonished persists in public mortal sin and attempts to receive Communion, the minister of the Eucharist has the obligation to deny it to him. Why? Above all, for the salvation of that person, preventing him from committing a sacrilege,” he added.

The Latest From The Archdiocese Of Sodom & Gomorrah
And not a peep from the fearless Archbishop

Here's a bit from The California Catholic Daily; (Emphasis mine) “The possibilities of a post-Vatican II Church”
Speakers for upcoming Northern California Lay Convocation not exactly models of orthodoxy

For the second consecutive year, Catholics in Northern California will gather at the University of San Francisco to discuss how to increase lay involvement in the Church. The Northern California Lay Convocation on Sept. 6 will focus on three priorities identified by last year’s convocation –
how to form pastoral councils, giving effective homilies, and finding a place for women’s voices in the liturgy.

Organizers of the convocation – “Bringing Voice to Faith” – expect 400 attendees, said the Aug. 4 Catholic Voice, the newspaper of the Oakland diocese. The convocation will feature two speakers: Mark F. Fischer, a faculty member at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo and an expert on pastoral councils, and Sister Eloise Rosenblatt, a member of the progressive-leaning Sisters of Mercy, Burlingame, and a “feminist theologian.”

Sister Eloise also addressed last year’s convocation. In her talk she noted that “some of the hotly debated issues” she had heard “involve substantive unresolved questions of Church life – women’s incorporation in ministry and decision making, the survival of the priesthood and the rule of celibacy, the Church’s teaching on human sexuality, laity having a voice in the selection of local bishops... protecting freedom of speech... promotion of a collegial and collaborative leadership style between hierarchy and laity with genuine consultation with laity” on a variety of issues.

Yes... IT IS!!
May God bless Randall Terry and everyone at Operation Rescue

Here's the entire article from The Catholic News Agency; Founder of Operation Rescue to distribute new flyer: “Is it Immoral to Vote for Obama for President?”

Denver, Aug 18, 2008 / 12:52 pm (CNA).- The founder of Operation Rescue, Randall Terry is in Denver today to distribute his organization’s new flyer, “Is it Immoral to Vote for Obama for President?”

His mission for the visit is simple: “hand out 100,000 copies of the brochure, ‘Is it Immoral to Vote for Obama for President?’ to Catholics and Evangelicals. It has a profoundly jolting effect on readers, explained Mr. Terry.

Mr. Terry and his staff are recruiting volunteers to help with the distribution from Tuesday 8/19 – to Sunday 8/24. They will go to malls, shopping centers, streets, and churches to hand out the brochure.

“It is mind boggling that millions of Catholics are considering voting for Obama – in spite of the fact that he is the most pro-death candidate in history,” remarked Mr. Terry.

“Worse yet is that they attempt to justify this abandonment of the unborn by citing ‘the common good.’ John Paul II specifically said such reasoning was against the teaching of the Church.”

“This new flyer will clear up any doubt for the open-hearted who will be consistent with their faith. I hope we can get a lot of volunteers; this could really make a difference.”

The brochure can be read in full at

For Baby-Killer Barry, The Hammer Doesn't Fall Far From The Sickle
Chicago's own Manchurian Candidate?

Here's some of the article from AIM (Accuracy In Media); (Emphasis mine) Obama’s Communist Cover-up Continues

In a surprising admission that could become a major scandal in the presidential race, Barack Obama’s 40-page so-called “rebuttal” to Jerome Corsi’s book, The Obama Nation, acknowledges for the first time that the senator once had a personal relationship with identified Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member Frank Marshall Davis, a key high-level operative in a Soviet-sponsored network in Hawaii.

But the 40-page report, advertised and sold to the media as a refutation of Corsi’s “lies,” doesn’t identify Davis as a hard-core communist and it dishonestly edits an article about Davis to eliminate references to his admitted involvement in CPUSA activities and make the black revolutionary writer and “poet” look like a civil rights activist.

In fact, Davis was a secret CPUSA member who continued his involvement in the CPUSA or its front activities into the 1970s, when he became Barack Obama’s mentor in Hawaii. Corsi’s book devotes part of chapter three, “Black Rage, Drugs, and a Communist Mentor,” to Davis.

This official Obama campaign cover-up, which attempts to further mislead voters about Obama’s mysterious and controversial background, occurs as serious questions are being raised about Obama’s initial soft line toward the Russian invasion of Georgia. In his
first statement on the crisis, Obama failed to directly condemn the Russian invasion. Obama “did not directly blame Russia” for the crisis, the New York Times acknowledged.

Letters from Hawai`i
Readers wrote to the Honolulu Star Bulletin

Here are two views of NObama’s recent “vacation” in Hawai`i. The first writer is either on dope or just plain stupid. (My comments in bold. Foul language alert!)

Candidate took risks on last day in Hawaii
I hope the nation takes notice of three important things we learned about Sen. Barack Obama by his actions on just one day here in Honolulu.

1. He is a man who can ask others to make difficult sacrifices but will also endure those same sacrifices himself. (He asked kids to only get a small-size shave ice, and limited himself to this size also).
A multi-millionaire limiting him and his kids to a small shave ice instead of a larger size and calling it a sacrifice is like the guy who said he understood starvation because he missed a meal.

2. He is a brave man. (He bodysurfed at Sandy Beach, which frequently has the nation's highest rate of broken necks).
He may be gutsy or just plain foolish, but to call it brave is plain bullshit. Tell me that a 19-year-old Marine carrying 70+ pounds of weapons and gear in the 125 degree heat while a patrolling a “hot zone” in Iraq and I might consider it brave (though I know the Marine wouldn’t).

3. The Secret Service really doesn't care if this man lives or dies. (Bodysurfing Sandys, and then standing in wave-beaten cliffs at Halona Blowhole where many have been washed into sea and killed.)
We should be so lucky! Actually, it is an insult to the Secret Service agents who would do their duty to even defend this asshole at the risk of their own lives. But, they work in obedience to his wishes (even if contrary to their advice). If NObama chose to use risky stunts as photo-ops, that’s on him...and a hint of what he might do if he was President.
Shelly R. BrownHonolulu

The second writer seem to have a better handle on reality.

Obama’s visit to Oahu was a strikeout
Let's see now, according to reports in your paper regarding presidential candidate Barack Obama's visit to Hawaii for 10 days: no aloha shirt, no flower lei, no church on Sunday. For a Hawaii-born self-acclaimed Christian, I think the three strikes and you're out rule applies in this case.

"Desperate"
That's "Democrat" spelled sideways

As I've already posted, the Obama folks are starting to get desperate in their attempts to go after McCain. It's pretty freakin' pathetic, if you ask me. Here's the latest from The National Review. Fellow POW: I Remember McCain Telling the "Cross in the Dirt" Story

You've probably seen that there are some out there in the blogosphere questioning the authenticity of John McCain's "cross in the dirt" story, which McCain told Saturday night at the Saddleback Summit. But there doesn't seem much mention of the fact that McCain had a lot of fellow POWs in Vietnam, and they can be asked for their recollections. So I called Orson Swindle, a fellow POW who is campaigning for McCain, to ask him about it.

"I recall John telling that story when we first got together in 1971, when were talking about every conceivable thing that had ever happened to us when we were in prison" Swindle told me a few minutes ago. "Most of us had been kept apart or in small groups. Then, in 1970, they moved us into the big cell. And when we all got to see each other and talk to each other directly, instead of tapping through walls, we had 24 hours a day, seven days a week to talk to each other, and we shared stories. I vaguely recall that story being told, among other stories."

"I remember it from prison," Swindle continued. "There were several stories similar to that in which guards — a very few, I might add — showed compassion to the prisoners. It was rare, and I never met one, but some of the guys did."

As for the people who are questioning McCain's account, Swindle said, "That's garbage. These people are desperate."

Is It Just Me...
Or did you notice it too?

Did anyone else find it rather despicable that Mr. Above My Paygrade cite The Holy Gospel of St. Matthew?

When asked to name America's biggest moral failure, The Obamination replied; "We still don't abide by that basic precept of Matthew that whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me."Interesting. This, coming from the same guy who wants children who've survived the abortion procedure, to die.

The Liberal Answer When Things Don't Go Their Way
Don't tell me you're surprised

After the spanking that McCain gave The Obamination at Saddleback the other night, I wasn't all that thrown aback when I heard Democrat talking-heads whining that "McCain MUST have known the questions beforehand! How else could he have answered those questions so quickly!!??"

No evidence, just make the accusation. You know how it goes.

Hmmm... could it be that McCain is able to think on his feet unlike Teleprompter Barry?

This whole thing reminds me of the accusation that the anti-war crowd made not all that long ago that Marines were executing prisoners in Iraq. Their rationale? That soooooo many terrorists were shot in the head. The only reason that could be (in the fevered minds of liberals) is because the Marines executed all the bad guys up close and personal. You know, gangland style.

No evidence, just make the accusation. You know how it goes.

Hmmm... and it took a Marine Corps spokesman to point out that the real reason sooooooo many bad guys were shot in the head, is because Marines really are that good of shots. Marines really, really do train for the head shot.

You know, that whole "One Shot... One Kill" thingee.

So Close...
But why doesn't he just come out and say it?

Like many of you, I watched the Saddleback Forum last night. I gotta tell ya... I don't know what planet the Obamaniacs are on, but on what do they base their observations that The Obamanation was "concise", "eloquent" and "thoughtful"?

In the words of my dear old departed father; "you gotta be shittin' me". Barry stumbled, fumbled and mumbled his way through that particular interview. Did anyone else notice how he slowly but surely broke eye contact as the questions got tougher? And how about when he was asked "not to give your stump speech" on a certain topic, how physically irritated he got? Ol' Barry doesn't like to have the heat turned up, do he?

And how about when he was asked “At what point does a baby get human rights, in your view?” His response: "answering that question with specificity is above my pay grade". How gutless.

McCain, on the other hand, gave answers that left little doubt that he meant what he said. Mostly...

He ducked the Embryonic Stem Cell Research question by tap dancing around it and saying that he is "wildly optimistic" that skin cell research "will make this debate an academic one."

Well, if you're so freakin' "wildly optimistic", then just come out and make this debate academic. Senator McCain, you need to clearly and unequivocally renounce ESCR. No nuancing... no tap dancing. Just damn say it.

That way you will no longer be in violation of one of the 5 Non-Negotiables, and then I (and thousands of others who take the protection of all innocent human life seriously) can support and vote for you.

One thing I will say; I believe the most telling moments were when they were asked what their most "gut-wrenching decision" ever was. The Obamination's bullshit answer how he "agonized" over being an favor of the war in Iraq. THAT is the most gut wrenching decision he's ever made!? Golly gee... he "agonized" that he might lose the election. What a vapid, lukewarm sorry excuse for a human being.

And I'll be honest, McCain's retelling how he turned down early release from a North Vietnamese POW camp because he had an obligation to abide by the Code of Conduct... that was real, touching and brought a lump to my throat. Especially when he said "But not only the toughest decision I ever made but I'm most happy about that decision than any decision I've ever made in my life."

But anyhow, the bottom line concerning last nights forum --- McCain administered an ass-whippin' of Biblical proportions. .

Haven't They Found A Cure For The Clap Yet?
In this case, I think mercy killing is in order

I recently had the misfortune of hearing a priest not only solicit applause for visitors to his parish... but also applause for himself. I felt duty-bound to point out to the good Father the below listed quote from Pope St. Pius X on the subject. Unfortunantly, he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Sad, really.

And while surfing the net researching the topic at hand, I came across a nifty little webiste, MyCatholicSource.com, and they have an equally nifty flyer suitable for dropping off at your local Self-Worshipitorium... oops, I mean Novus Ordo parish.

Here're a few of the quotes; "Nothing so becomes a Church as silence and good order. Noise belongs to theaters and baths, and public processions and marketplaces: but where doctrines, and such doctrines, are the subject of teaching, there should be stillness, and quiet, and calm reflection, and a haven of much repose." - St. John Chrysostom, Doctor of The Church

"It is not fitting that the servant should be applauded in his Master's House." - Pope St. Pius X

“Whenever applause breaks out in the liturgy because of some human achievement, it is a sure sign that the essence of the liturgy has totally disappeared and been replaced by a kind of religious entertainment.” - Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger

If you don't applaud The Consecration, why applaud anything else? - The MyCatholicSource crew

Ecumenism Vs. Dialogue
What's the difference?

"Ecumenism"... I'm sick of the word of it. More often than not, it's usually connected with the sell-out and/or watering-down of Catholicism at the expense of groveling to various heretics and apostates. But every so often, I hear of "dialogue". Is there a difference? Turns out there is.

The textbook Catholic definition of ecumenism is quite simply, anything dealing with the world-wide Catholic Church. With that in mind, remember that Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy have never considered each other heretical... in schism (separated), yes... but never heretical. And in light that we consider each other to have valid orders and Sacraments, we all know that in certain cases, we could be granted Last Rites, Penance, etc, from an Orthodox priest (Russian, Ethiopian, Serbian, Greek, Syrian, etc.), and of course, vice versa.

Looking at the history of ecumenism, we have the examples of both the Councils of Lyon and Florence, in which some bishops of the Eastern Orthodox Churches participated. Not just observed... but participated in. Just like His Holiness recently stated, the Eastern Orthodox are our Sister Churches.

Can the same be said of Protestants? No. They're not only schismatic, but heretical. We don't engage in ecumenism with Protestants, but rather, dialogue.

So what's the difference between ecumenism and dialogue? In a word: validity. It's simply impossible for Catholic leaders to engage in ecumenism with those who deny the Sacramental Priesthood, Sacramental Confession, The Real Presence of Christ in The Eucharist, etc. Dialogue, yes. But ecumenism, no.

That is, unless those same Catholic leaders deny any or all of the above.

Hafa Adai To All My Primos!
Well, 2d and 3d cousins...

The Little League World Series play-offs start this weekend. I'm proud to say that the team from Guam won the Asia-Pacific Championship.

Even though my mom's family (Familian Gollo) is from the northern part of the island, congrats to the team from the other end of Guam, Yona Little League (pronounced Joan-YA).

I'm not all that familiar with all the family names, but I know I'm probably related to the Cruz, Blas and San Nichols boys.

Guam's first game is today against the European Champ; Emilia, Italy. Good luck to both teams!

Here's the master link page for everything LLWS, to include the TV schedule and various links to all the teams from around the world.

In this day and age of multi-zillionaire athletes, it sure is nice to see kids play a kids game just because it's fun.

A Voice Crying Out In The Wilderness
And where are the other 300+ members of the USCCB?

MIA, that's where the vast majority of them are. But while we search high and low (mostly low) for any semblence of Catholicism and leadership from our brave shepherds, here's some of the article from the Catholic News Agency; (Emphasis mine) Archbishop Naumann hopes Obama realizes Sebelius is a bad Catholic advisor

(CNA).- With the U.S. presidential race heating up and both John McCain and Barack Obama close to announcing their vice presidential nominees, Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City says he hopes his warning of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius for her support of abortion, has “alerted” Obama that she is not a good advisor on the Catholic Church.

While he was in Quebec City, Canada for the Knights of Columbus’ annual conference, Archbishop Naumann took time to explain to CNA the intricacies of his decision to ask the Kansas governor to refrain from receiving Communion.

Writing in the May 9 issue of The Leaven, the Archdiocese of Kansas City’s newspaper, Archbishop Naumann said that because of the governor’s support for legalized abortion, he had asked her to refrain from receiving Holy Communion until she makes a worthy confession and publicly repudiates her stand on abortion. He later clarified that his request to her was not directed toward one particular action, but rather, it concerned her “30-year history of advocating and acting in support of legalized abortion.”

When you stand before God…

“There are many goods you are trying to weigh. Where you have someone in public life who is not living in their public responsibilities consistent with the Catholic faith, I think you are concerned about that individual,” he began.

“One of the things that I said when I met with the governor at one point, is that some day she’s going to have to stand before God and account for her public service. And I hope that she’s going to have something better to say than what she does to this point on the protection of the innocent unborn. But I said if you go to God and you say, ‘Well, I didn’t understand how important this was’ or ‘I didn’t understand that this was such a crucial issue’ then as your bishop I’m the one responsible because I didn’t do enough to try and make sure of that. I told her I wasn’t comfortable with that and so I wanted to make sure that she understood what a serious matter this was.”

Agenda... What Agenda?
Helmet tip to Former Altar Boy

There are a number of sources to this, but here's one from My.BarackObama.com "He loves his wife. He's good to his dog," Barack joked, referring to the fluffy answers the Senate Judiciary Committee allowed Roberts to give. We need to use a different standard to evaluate justices, Barack said:

We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges.
I guess a working knowledge of the United States Constitution is out of the question. I'll leave it to the more learned out there to comment exactly what the criteria is for a Justice of the Supreme Court.

Other than having a soft, chewy center, that is.

Trey Update
Good!

Many of you have been asking the status of my brother-in-law, Trey, who was jumped a few months back and gang beaten. Well, the headaches are still there, but less severe. And he's slowly getting back to work. And slowly is better than none at all.

So again... thanks to all of you who helped out in so many different ways. God will smile on you!

"Left To Die In The 'Soiled Utility Room'"
Of all places... "Advocate Christ Medical Center"

This is what Barack Hussein Obama fought to protect. Read it and weep. Make sure you pass this on to your "Catholics for Obama" friends. How Babies Were Left to Die: Nurse Recounts Horrors of Infanticide Practice Barack Obama Protected
By John Jalsevac

August 12, 2008 (
LifeSiteNews.com) - At the same time that the National Right to Life Committee has unearthed documents proving that Barack Obama repeatedly voted against a bill that would have protected children born alive after an attempted abortion, Illuminati Pictures has released a video of an interview with a nurse who witnessed the very practice that Obama protected while in the Illinois senate (See: http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/aug/08081101.html ).

Jill Stanek was a nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois in 1999 when she discovered that babies born alive after failed abortions purposely were being left to die in the "soiled utility room," which, says Stanek, is a room where biohazard materials and soiled linens are disposed of.

"That's where nursing staff took these babies and left them to die."

Stanek went public with her traumatizing experiences when hospital staff refused to stop the practice of infanticide. In 2000 she was asked to testify before a U.S. House committee for the federal Born Alive Infants Protection Act (BAIPA). The BAIPA was a two-paragraph bill intended to clarify that any baby who is entirely expelled from his or her mother, and who shows any signs of life, is to be regarded as a legal "person" for all federal law purposes, whether or not the baby was born during an attempted abortion.

A version of this bill, almost identical to the federal bill, was eventually brought before the Illinois Senate, which is where Obama repeatedly opposed the measure.

"Christ hospital - and we now know other hospitals and clinics around the country - are involved in an abortion procedure called 'induced labor abortion,'" says Stanek in the video, entitled "Kill and Destroy". In this type of abortion, she says, the abortionist inserts a medication into the birth canal of the mother and induces premature labor.

"My experience was that they [the babies] survive as short as a few minutes, to once, almost as long as an eight hour shift.

"To be clear these were living babies who were left out to die. And they were issued both birth and death certificates according to Illinois state law."

Stanek relates the story of how one night she saw a nurse bringing a baby to the soiled utility room to die, because the parents of the child did not want to hold it. The other nurse also did not have the time to hold the child. "When she told me what she was doing I couldn't bear the thought of this suffering child dying alone," says Stanek. "And so I cradled and rocked him for the forty-five minutes that he lived."

Stanek recounts how, besides testifying before the federal House, she also testified before an Illinois State Senate Committee, a Committee on which Barack Obama sat.

"Barack Obama," she says, "was unmoved, and actually opposed the Born Alive Infant Protection Act."

"This one guy, Barack Obama," she says, "thought that infanticide was acceptable and voted to protect it. Some people said that Barack Obama was uninformed or may not have fully understood the implications of this bill. But he voted against it three times. That's calculated."

The former nurse of Christ Hospital also dispels the myth, propagated by Obama and his campaign, that Obama only voted against the bill because it did not include language clarifying that the bill would have no effect on legal abortion; this language was found in the federal version of the legislation.

However, observes Stanek, "As chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee in 2003, he stopped the identical wording from being introduced." This fact was confirmed recently by the National Right to Life Committee, which found and made public documents proving, beyond a doubt, that Obama voted against a version of the bill that included the abortion-protecting language.

Illuminati Pictures' video concludes with a dramatization of nurses leaving a newborn infant to die on a table in a darkened room.

"Barack Obama can play word games, but at the end of the day his opposition was responsible for living babies being left out to die, and that is indefensible," concludes Stanek.

And just so you know, Advocate Christ Hospital bills itself as "one of the most comprehensive providers of pediatric care in the state" and "provides critically ill infants the assistance they need to begin and sustain life."

Obama would be proud.

Is This The Point Where We All Put That Shocked Look On Our Faces?
By their fruits, you shall know them

And by "fruits", I mean the homo-rapist that the good Archbishop protected. Here's some of the article from Catholic World News; Diocese formerly headed by Archbishop Gregory withheld abuse evidence

St. Louis, Aug. 11, 2008 (CWNews.com) - A former president of the US bishops' conference has been accused of withholding evidence about an abusive priest from a review board.

In an Illinois court case, Margaret Mensen-- who headed a board studying clerical abuse in the Belleville diocese-- has testified that former Bishop Wilton Gregory did not provide full records of priests who had been accused of molesting young people. In a sworn deposition Mensen said that her panel would have investigated rape charges against Father Raymond Kownacki, but those charges were never disclosed to the board.
Kownacki, who was removed from ministry in 1995, is now being sued by a former altar boy who says the priest molested him in the 1970s. The Belleville diocese is asking to have the case dismissed on the grounds that the statute of limitations has lapsed. The court could allow the case to proceed if it finds that the diocese was guilty of "fraudulent concealment" of evidence in the case.

Msgr. James Margason, who was vicar general for the Belleville diocese under then-Bishop Gregory, has conceded that he did not supply full information about the charges against Kownacki to the review board.
With shepherds like this, who needs wolves?
