In The World, Or Of The World?

From The Australian; (Emphasis mine)Web vote to find world's most beautiful nuns
August 25, 2008 01:00pm
AN Italian priest is organising an online beauty pageant for nuns to fight the stereotype that they are all old and dour. The Miss Sister 2008 pageant will give nuns from around the world a chance to show off their work and image.
"Being ugly is not a requirement for becoming a nun. External beauty is a gift from God, and we mustn't hide it," said the Reverend Antonio Rungi. "Nuns are a bit excluded. They are a bit marginalised in ecclesiastical life.
Each nun will have a profile that includes a photo and information about their life and vocation. It will be up to each entrant to decide how they pose in a traditional veil or with their head uncovered.
Rev Rungi said nuns he regularly prayed and worked with suggested the idea of a beauty pageant to him. He hoped dozens of nuns would enter the competition. I'm just freakin' oozin' external beauty. Ya think I have a snowball's chance in hell?

You might win "Miss Orthodoxy". Beyond that it is a toss-up between the snowball & hell. ; )
I think you'll take first place!! It's the Baltimore Catechism that caught my vote...
Seriously though... what's this Priest THINKING anyway?? So... he goes and finds all the "pretty" nuns and shows them off to the world. What kind of message does this send to the "not pretty" nuns??
I've always disagreed with beauty pagents so I'm not impressed with this.
IF you were wearing a scapular, you'd have my vote!
As long as you got your Baltimore, you'll do just fine...
"External beauty is a gift of God, and we mustn't hide it."
No, just flaunt it!! Unreal! what a joke....
Beauty on the outside never gets into the soul, but beauty of the soul reflects itself on the face. It's loveliness refuses to be imprisoned; it comes out in the eyes, the words, and the kindness of the hands. The luster of holiness, however much it reveals on the outside, has to be kept up by contact with its spiritual foundation. As the sun in the sky shines on clouds and makes them beautiful, so the Divine Light can even make more beautiful the faces that are clouded with sorrows and freighted with tears.
After seeing your photo, I know Sister Anna Rexia has nothing to worry about.
A snowball's chance?
Only if you ditch the glasses!
Brown scapular has my vote.....but you've got to be kidding me with this!
My aren't you a HANDSOME sister of perpetual disaster!
Laugh Riot!
"Ya think I have a snowball's chance in hell?"
Let's just say you shouldn't give up your daytime job.
LMAO! Are you going to enter as Sister Mary Margaritaville with that shirt - oops - habit, Cavey?
That's ok. You win just for showing up.
