The Deliverance Mass
And their altar boy is pictured on the right

That's right, fellow Bloglodytes. We now have a "Bluegrass Mass". Is there a connection between Deliverance, the bishops covering up homosexual scandal after homosexual scandal, and squealing like a pig? I think not.

Give a listen to this joke of a "hymn", then remind yourself that the reason soooooo many priests and bishops are against the Traditional Latin Mass is because it's so "divisive".

Yeah... right. And The Hee-Haw Mass would be so relevant anywhere on earth with the exception of the loonier parts of Appalachia. Yeah... right.

OMG!! I watched that horrid movie ~ had no idea what I was getting myself into. Didn't even know what was going on at first because I never imagined men would do that to other men! (Rape.)

Oh gaaaad!! And now they have a "Bluegrass Mass"?? I don't see it as a "homosexual thing" but deffinately freakin' too ho-down for MASS!!!!! What ever happened to being sacred at mass???

How about a Hee Haw: the Next Generation Mass with liturgical dance:

What scares me is, I am sure someone has probably already done it.

As for the music sample, sounded more like "I've laid arround & stayed arround this old town too long", not something to be used as a liturgical setting.

Ha! I couldn't bring myself to listen to the "hymn" in its entirety. I like the music, but trying to bring it into church as a "hymn" just doesn't mesh. I kept expecting the singer to say something like, "And then my dog finally came on home..."

On another note: Happy 234th Birthday to our awesome Marines! I love the quotes on this page!

Oh for forks sake! It's bad enough that it's bluegrass, but I CANNOT STAND it when they turn the Gloria into a "song" with a refrain. There isn't a refrain of "Glory to God".

I'll be waiting to hear this version the next time we're traveling for baseball and attend Mass somewhere other than our normal parish. Grr.

As a resident of Appalachia, I can assure you that it's NOT relevant or acceptable here.

Well at least it is not more Haugen, Hass, and Shute music! LOL *big grin*

OK, it is totally unacceptable.

I wonder what dueling church organs would sound like! more LOL

VSC, No offense taken at all. After all, I live in a LIBERAL college town (is that redundant?), so I deal with the loonies frequently.
