What Do We Do With The Next 12 Million?
Wonderful example of gratitude towards America... ya think?
OK, President Vicente Fox of Mexico has snapped his fingers, and quicker than you could say "Yo Quero Taco Bell", Georgie-Porgie came a runnin'. I wonder how high Vicente wants him to jump this time?
And no matter how you slice it, any "deal" struck concerning the millions and millions of illegals already here will do nothing more than embolden millions and millions more to come here... illegally. Sheesh, doesn't anyone around here follow what's happened to Europe?
And I don't want anyone to give me any of that drivel about "they're doing the jobs that Americans won't do". Georgie-Porgie, I'm talkin' to YOU! I personally know many a hard working, tax paying, loyal, patriotic Americans who have lost bid after bid... contract after contract to those who would knowingly hire illegals. Anyhow, when it comes to immigration (both legal and illegal), I'm in the Extreme Center. I have a painfully simple and fair 4 point plan to end this nightmare once and for all.
1. Streamline the process for citizenship for those who came here legally. Send the message, damn it! If you follow the rules, you will be rewarded. How damn hard is that? I personally know many legal immigrants here in NC. I tell ya what... this generation may live in the Trailer Park, but the next generation won't. Gee, that sounds an awful lot like the first generation Irish, Italians, Poles, etc, etc, who lived in the slums not than many generations ago, huh?
2. Immediately cease going after the illegals themselves. Transfer at least 50% of the Immigration/Customs and Border Patrol agents to the Treasury Department. Here's why; a few months ago I called into a local talk radio show and asked local DA if he was doing anything about the flood of illegals (NC has approx. half a million). He said he couldn't do anything because it's a "problem for the federal government". Okay... so I asked if a local employer knowingly and willing hires illegals, does that entail that state taxes are not being paid? He said yes. I asked if he had authority to do something about said tax evasion... he said yes. I then asked if he was actually doing something about it. His tap dancing answer? Well... let's just say that I called him a moral coward. We need to pull an Al Capone on these economic Benedict Arnolds in this country. What say 1 year in prison and a $10,000 fine per illegal alien hired? Oh, and let's not elect anymore gutlees DA's.
3. Who will do all the menial labor that soooooo many illegals are now doing? This is a real easy one. Make Welfare and Food Stamps as difficult to get as a gun permit. Also, I have two words for you; "inmate labor". Instead of them lifting weights, fine tuning their Cryps and/or Bloods resume, or engaging in recreational proctology with the new guy... how about we have 'em actually do something productive and beneficial for society? If said inmates find menial labor demeaning, real simple; don't commit crime. Capice?
4. Lastly, don't vote for anyone, and I mean ANYONE, Republican or Democrat, who supports President Bush's cowardly policies towards illegal immigration.

Re "anchor" babies:
That would require a constitutional amendment to make it completely clear. If it was just a law, some judge on the 9th Circuit will rule it unconstitutional.
The anchor baby thing has got to go or at the very least the anchor baby should no longer be the excuse to bring the whole family over. Also, heavy taxes on all the money that is sent home.
anchor baby?
