In a disturbing sequence of events, a pastor on the South Shore of Long Island who attempted to correct a spate of sacriligious abuses of consecrated Hosts by temporarily banning the practice of Communion in the hand in his parish, has apparently been ordered by the DRVC hierarchy to reverse his decision.In last Sunday's bulletin, the courageous pastor issued an urgent directive temporarily forbidding Communion in the Hand in his parish in order to halt a recent string of cases involving the desecration of the Blessed Sacrament:
As we begin the journey of Holy Week, I ask for your deep reflection on the matter of the desecration of the Holy Eucharist. More cases were reported to me of students leaving the church with the Blessed Sacrament in hand. Fortunately, these hosts were retrieved. This week one of our teachers found a host in a hymnal.This is too serious a situation to continue to be just cautious. It is time for action, at least for a few months. Please read this Notice to Parishioners:IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARISHIONERSDue to the continued reports and discovery of the Consecrated Hosts in the pages of hymnals and attempts to leave with the Blessed Sacrament in hand or in pocket, EVERYONE MUST RECEIVE COMMUNION ON THE TONGUE. COMMUNION IN THE HAND IS FORBIDDEN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. ~~think I have a new hero~~

Much to the dismay of Catholics around the diocese, however, this week's bulletin reports that the good pastor has been instructed to remove his temporary ban on Communion in the Hand. ~~Now there's a shocker!!!~~
The pastor's excellent comment:
As you know, we have resumed distributing Holy Communion in the Hand. Sr. Sheila Brown in the Office of Worship sent the following reflection [?] issued by the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions [?] in 2003. I do not regret the action I took in response to what we agreed were and are terrible abuses. I pray that the attention brought to the matter of abuse of the Consecrated Host will heighten everyone’s awareness and show the need for continual education on the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

This is a disgraceful humiliation of a fine pastor who has endeavored for many months to encourage in his parishioners a love and devotion for the Blessed Sacrament as can be seen in his letters week after week in the parish bulletin.He recently went to great effort to move the tabernacle to the sanctuary from a side altar and replaced the main altar with a splendid Italian marble altar. So there you have it. This priest should be set as an example, yet he gets set up for embarrassment at the hands of Sister 'Nonsubstantiation'.

I will offer my Rosary tomorrow for this loyal priest and the remaining faithful on Long Island. I will also pray for the conversion of those who foster this sin.

Total bullshit. Last time I checked, the divinely instituted Hierarchy of priest-bishop-archbishop-cardinal-Pope did not include some bureaucratic body called the "Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions," and certainly not nuns.
Much as I feel for this poor priest, he should have told that nun to shove it, and that his ban would remain in effect until he heard from the bishop himself on it.
What are the odds that this nun is non-habit-wearing and, shall we say, a bit butch?

If this priest told you to jump off a cliff would you. Please tell me what have you learned from the bible, nothing for you to be judging someone that you do not know and obviously will not find the correct picture or online info for. Rockville Centre is located on the East Coast idiots. And yes I know Sister and she is from butch. Even after reading all of this she would still treat you people with respect and love.

Everyone bad talking a liberal nun = expected
If you want to reach out to people as God reaches out to everyone, stop wasting your time bad talking nuns and do something about liturgical abuses. And do it in a way that would actually change something. Not in a way that an orthodox Catholic like myself would look at and vomit because the lack of charity.
By the way, calling someone a lesbian is really not going to do anything... it pushes people away from the Truth.
Regarding the actual topic of discussion, I am so proud of that priest trying to stop people from disrespecting our Lord!! I will be praying for him.
