Ahhh... So THAT'S Why Women Can't Be Priests!
*slapping hand on forehead*
Yeah, I pretty much went off like a firecracker concerning the WomenPriests nonsense in San Diego. But hey, we should all get at least a little fired-up when out-and-out stupidity like that rears it's ugly head.
And of course, that got me thinking as to why women can't be priests. And besides the rock solid reasons that The Church has given to us since the days that Christ walked the earth... but one a little more present day.
Here's what I'm gettin' at; if women could be priests, why couldn't I be a nun? And no... I don't mean a Religious Brother.... I mean a NUN? You know, wear a habit, live in a convent, be called Sister Caveperson, be the Director of Religious Uneducation at Sts. Fidel and Che Catholic Community of Berkeley, California, etc.
Admit it... wouldn't it be groovy to have this teaching your kids their catechism?

Off-topic, possibly, but I'd like to ask everyone to pray for the repose of the soul of Karen Marie Knapp, who occasionally commented on this blog (and sparred with VSC). She lived as an "unofficial" consecrated virgin, and was one of the sweetest, gentlest people I've ever known...may Karen, and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

I love the veil--wherever did you get it?--I want one just like it! Father Erik says as a nurse I should wear a nurse hat--I think this one is perfect! ROFL!
Oh, and the palm tree shirt--such a nice choice for a habit--wow, can women join your order? It would be very tolerant of you if you let me join--sista.
If you let me join--I'll definitly need the ruler--if men and women will be living together in a convent--it will come in handy for those long nights--never know what one might need to wack in the dark. LOL!
Seeing your picture I have to say that none (nun) of the sisters I had in grade or high school could hold a candle to this when it comes to scary.
Any kids taught by you would be scared for life & not from being whacked by the ruler.
Also, don't forget that sisters & nuns are required to be celebate also. Are you sure you want that?
(At least you can rest assured that there is 1 group of alledged Nuns in Calafornia that won't welcome you.)

This reminds me of a Priest talking about a woman who had complained to him that "I can never be a Priest"- his response was: "Well, I can never be a MOTHER!" His advice: "Get over it".

All I can say is that, greeted with such a visage daily, celibacy would be a snap!
Wouldn't that be a "MaleNun" or "ManNun" like "WomanPriest"? And come to think of it... how does one address a "WomanPriest"? Or should I say how do they expect to be addressed, I know how I'd address them.
I got the answer to my question of what to call "womynpriests" on the Spirit of Vatican 2 blog. Figures they would know. They have a gender neutral term. It derives from the old "Dom" as an address for a priest, but you change the gender offensive "o" to "y" and get "Dym". :-)
Creepy. You freakily resemble the "Spirit of Vatican II" nuns who threw off their habits and embraced polyester pant suits. I always suspected that they were men from Berkley... Anyhoo, that veil - cute. It almost looks like the real thing!!
