The [West] Will Sell Us The Rope With Which We Will Hang Them -
Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

Interesting article concerning the Clinton Administration's appeasement of Kim Jong Il.

After a year of inaction (during Clinton's first administration) allowed Pyongyang to create at least one nuclear weapon, the emboldened Stalinists announced their formal withdrawal from the (Non-Proliferation) treaty. It seemed North Korean officials were angling for a payoff. They must have realized they struck the jackpot when Clinton named tough-as-nails Jimmy Carter as his principal negotiator.

Under the final terms of the Agreed Framework approved in October of 1994, Clinton agreed to provide the "Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea" (DPRK) with two light water nuclear reactors and a massive allotment of oil. The U.S. agreed to ship 500,000 metric tons of oil annually in response to the North's pretense that the energy-starved backwater had developed the nuclear facility to generate power. These shipments have cost taxpayers more than $800 million to date - a bargain compared with the $6 billion spent on constructing the nuclear reactors, which now empower North Korea to produce 100 nuclear bombs each year.

The most isolated nation in the world has possessed a nuclear weapon capable of striking the United States (the Taepo Dong 2 missile) since at least 1999. Its modern-day commissars have threatened to use these missiles against America a minimum of three times in 21 months.

Clinton's coddling of dictators with a yearning for Weapons of Mass Destruction got us here.

Possibly when there are mushroom clouds over Tokyo, Seoul, Fairbanks, Seattle, or Los Angeles... maybe then we'll wise up. And we won't have to send one American Marine, soldier, sailor or airman into North Korea. We still have nukes... don't we?

At SOME point in time, X42 will be recognized as a formal traitor to the US.

PRChina, NKorea, the spy-at-Los Alamos, Mochtar Riady's financing and the paybacks to PRChina resulting therefrom...

Not to mention X42 stopped all production of nukes, and rammed through (with Newt the Intellectualoid) the MFN/PNTR with PRChina.

I was going to make a crude innuendo about missiles and contrasts between Clinton and Jong Il, but I'll skip it.
Recent reports suggest that PRNK is not going to try to launch another one anytime soon. Who would want to look stupid twice?
