Outrage Of The Moment
I get outraged a lot

Literally right down the road from where I live is a sorta "Catholic"(?) parish, Innaccurate Deception. The same parish that listed itself in the local Yellow Pages as "The Liberal Catholic Church". I kid you not.

Anyhow, a little news story just hit concerning their former shepherd.

The Rev. James J. Behan, 61, entered guilty pleas to felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Behan was removed as pastor of Immaculate Conception Church on Carolina Beach Road after the victim complained to church officials in 2002. Behan worked as pastor there since 1993. http://www.starnewsonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051210/NEWS/51209027/1015/news01

Get ready for this... the penalty handed down against this scumbag? 12 years of probation for having a sexual relationship with a high school student in Philadelphia, beginning in 1978 when the boy was 15.

I remember Behan well. Being the good Catholic that I try to be, when we moved here I went to the closest parish, Innacurate Deception, to register my family. I was stunned upon entering. A caverous monstrosity with all the reverence of an auto parts warehouse, no kneelers, more multi-colored banners than a hippie protest at a nuclear waste dump, best (worst?) of all... no Tabernacle in sight. But anyhow, I introduced myself to "Father" Jimmy, or Skippy, or Biff, or whatever the hell he called himself... and when I told him that I kneel for Communion, he looked at me like he just bit into a lemon and then sneered to me "then just make sure you're the last on in line". I knew right then that it was probably a pretty good idea to find another parish. Why am I not shocked to eventually find out that "Mr. Hip" is a child molester?

"Suffer the little children..."? With shepherds like Behan, who needs wolves?
