In All Fairness To Poland And The Ukraine
Do the Polish and Ukrainian Bishops have a valid complaint?
I did some digging after the last posting I did, where I flamed the Polish and Ukrainian bishops.
Poland -
Diocesan priests that celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass totaled up to zero.
The FSSP does have a presence in Poland. http://fssp.org/antiquusordo/start.htm. FSSP celebrated Traditional Latin Mass totaled up to three, with one of them being only once a month.
The SSPX also has a presence in Poland. http://www.piusx.org.pl/index.php?nr=3. SSPX celebrated Traditional Latin Mass totaled up to twelve, with two of them being intermittent.
The Ukraine -
In light that The Ukrainian Catholics are (obviously) of the Greek-Ukrainian Rite, The Traditional Latin Mass is rare indeed within this country. However, there is a Traditional liturgy (The Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom) for this particular Rite. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian Rite has pretty much been "Novus Ordo-ized" since the Second Vatican Council.
I have found that there is something called the Priestly Society of St. Josaphat (PSSJ) in The Ukraine headed by a certain Father Basil Kovpak. From what I have gathered, they celebrate the Traditional Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. The PSSJ is under the "umbrella" so to speak, of the SSPX. The following Russian language link http://forum.christianity.org.ru/topic.cgi?forum=5&topic=2444&start=60, has a fairly good amount of info. You just have to scroll down a wee bit until you see english.
I'm not having much luck finding out how often and where the PSSJ celebrates liturgy, but I do know they have their own seminary, convent, and "several" chapels. And have been such a presence, that the local bishop had to have a "prayer march" against the PSSJ.
Gee, you'd think they were muslims. Oops, silly me... we luv and hug muslims... we hate Traditionalists. Silly me.

Diocesan priests celebrating TLM in Poland = 0? Big surprise there. If you take away the Mass and leave the impression there is no alternative, many people will want to do *something*, even if they arent sure that it's right. Afterall, Poland is one of the more traditionally, staunchly Catholic countries of Christendom; like Ireland, on the fringes of the old Roman Empire. When my ancestors in Germany and England were murdering each other over religion, the Polish remained united and unscathed. Maybe, the TLM will reclaim the Polish -- or the Polish will reclain the TLM -- and it Poland will become a centre of rebirth for our Faith.
I know the Urainians are predominantly Eastern rite. Doesnt make a bit of difference to me, so long as they are doing things in accordance with their own tradition and in unity with Eternal Rome and not the Rome of the Modernists.
God bless the Polish and the Ukrainians!
