At Catholic cathedral, Lutheran leader calls the Pill ‘God’s gift’
May 14, 2010
Speaking at an ecumenical event in Munich’s Catholic cathedral, Bishop Margot Käßmann, who led Germany’s Lutherans until her February arrest for drunk driving, paid tribute to the birth control pill.
The Pill, she said, can be seen as “God’s gift, for it is about the preservation of life, of freedom, which doesn’t have to immediately degenerate into pornography, as much as the sexualisation of our society is, of course, a problem.”
“It’s about love without fear and about responsible parenthood. And for women, in fact, it’s about concern for their own lives and those of their own children.”

I still think this "bishop" is getting saused! Hey, speaking abot bishops, where was our bishop?! The Holy Father needs to call him on the carpet about this abomination!
And this is why women priests (& bishops) are BAD ideas...
Worse than the statement itself, is the priest or bishop who allowed her to speak in the cathedral in the first place.

This may have been touted as "an ecumenical event" but "Bishop" Margot doesn't make any sense!
Read her Wikipedia entry and *surprise* "she disagrees with some of the Roman Catholic teachings about homosexuality, artificial contraception, action on reducing the spread of AIDS, ordination and celibacy".
Friends, she's a perfect example of WHY Catholics aren't Lutherans! Silly woman.
