I Don't Know If This Is Just An Internet Hoax, Nor Do I Care
Because it's fundamentally true

I don't know if this remark is a hoax either. However, As a young man, I remember Bob Hope saying something just like this at a live appearance at the Heart of Illinois Fair in the early 70's. His quip was about sodomy in California. He said it was legel, and he was going to leave when it became compulsory.
