L.A. Mayor: Illegal Immigration Adds to ‘Economic Might’ of Deficit-Ridden California
By Christopher Neefus
Washington (CNSNews.com) – Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa told CNSNews.com Thursday that illegal immigration has not contributed to his city's budget problems, but, on the contrary, that illegal immigration adds to the “economic might” of California.
"In California, I think there’s a real sense that these immigrants provide a great deal to the economic might of the state," said Villaraigosa.
After Villaraigosa testified at a congressional hearing on Thursday, CNSNews.com asked him what impact illegal immigration has had on the fiscal sitution of his city, which is now running a $485 million deficit.
“With the city having passed this boycott of Arizona, do you think illegal immigration is a contributor to the budget problems in L.A.?” CNSNews.com asked.
“No,” Villaraigosa responded

What a joke. If California has such “economic might” then I trust the political whores that they call elected officials will stop groveling for the federal government to bail them out of their self-caused fiscal crisis. Such a bailout would do nothing but create yet another perverse incentive for future bad policy; they are too big not to fail and have to face the consequences of their actions.
L.A. is boycotting Arizona? B.S. They just don’t have any residents that can visit Arizona without being deported. This is like me saying that I refuse to date Jessica Simpson—yeah, that’s the reason we’re not dating…
