So That's What It's Like To Live In An Ivory Tower
It must be nice to be so absolutely and utterly clueless

I can't read the news on any given day without finding out that Catholics have been massacred by moslems in Iraq; a 12-yr-old Catholic girl in Pakistan was kidnapped, raped, beaten then murdered by her moslem 'employer' (then he was set free); Catholic school girls are gunned down in overwhelmingly moslem Indonesia; moslem protesters in London carrying placards saying in essence that anyone who doesn't embrace mohammed should be beheaded, etc, etc.

Here's some of the article from; (Emphasis and comments mine)
Cardinal Tauran: We Shouldn't Fear Islam
Says Interreligious Dialogue Can Deepen Faith

GRANADA, Spain, FEB. 18, 2010 ( The president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue is affirming that Catholics should not fear Islam, but rather welcome the chance for deepening their faith through interchange with Muslims. (And what can I learn from murderous thugs who renounce the Divinity of Christ and the complete existence of The Holy Ghost?)

Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran affirmed this in Granada during his Feb. 10 opening address for a two-day congress sponsored by the Faculty of Theology of Granada. The congress was titled "Christianity, Islam and Modernity."

"We must not fear Islam," the prelate affirmed, "but I would say more: Christians and Muslims, when they profess their own faith with integrity and credibility, when they dialogue and make an effort to serve society, constitute a richness for the latter." (What happened to serving God? Silly Caveman... it's all about The Cult of Man, and kissing as much moslem ass as humanly possible.)
I wrote a posting back in '06 concerning gutless 'shepherds' who lack the testicular fortitude to defend Christ and His Church.

When it come to a rather large percentage of alleged leaders in the Catholic Church, I haven't seen backbones this jelly-filled since the days of Neville Chamberlain... or Pope John Paul II.

Now, now, Cavey. Let's not be uncharitable. HizEminence is right; we shouldn't fear Islam. We should, however, fear Muslims...Ok, Ok, I won't be uncharitable, either. We should be veeery wary of Wahabist/Jihadi Muslims and prepare accordingly.

Right on! Your faith will be especially deepened by the Turks as they lovingly carve your head from your body in the name of Allah!

If his comments were in the context of Christ's Church will always triumph over the forces of heresy, then I would agree with what you're saying.

But I believe that H.E. is pushing more Kumbayah Catholicism. If we just hug the Jihaadists hard enough... they'll love us.

Know what I mean?

I had to look twice to see it was a Spanish cardinal. Mohammedan Moors from North Africa crossed the Straits into Spain about 711; the last of them were kicked out about 1492. The leader of the first invasion force was Tariq ibn Ziyad; after whom Gibraltar (Jabal Tariq, rock of Tariq) is named. I had to crib some of this info, but Cardinal Tauran should have that in the marrow of his bones.

Since we all know Catholics live quite well in Muslim countries, of course we shouldn't fear them...just one more spineless shepard

P.S. HizEminence should tell that to the Jews of Malmö Sweden...Really, It seems HizEminence has forgotten his history.

Well, it's time to get HizEminence out of the PC haze with a little refresher from retired Colonel Allen West, who's running for Florida’s 22nd congressional district:

“You want to dig up Charles Martel and ask him why him why he was fighting the Muslim army at the Battle of Tours in 732? You want to ask the Venetian fleet at Lepanto why they were fighting a Muslim fleet in 1571? You want to ask…the Germanic and Austrian knights why they were fighting at the gates of Vienna in 1683? You want to ask people what happened at Constantinople and why today it is called Istanbul because they lost that fight in 1453?

You need to get into the Koran…and understand their precepts. This is not a perversion. They are doing exactly what this book says.”

'Nuff said.

Evidently H.E. has forgot the history of Spain, the land of my Ancestors who fought in the Reconquest to rid (then Catholic) Spain of Muslim's! I grow more and more appalled by Spain's diminishing Catholicism and growing spinelessness.
I call Crusade! Deus Vult!
