Senior House Democrat leadership aides say that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi believes that members of the Central Intelligence Agency aren't the only people who have been lying to her. "Since she stepped into the middle of this waterboarding controversy she's become almost paranoid about her own people," says one leadership aide, who has worked with Pelosi, most recently in strategizing about House efforts on health care reform.
According to the aides, Pelosi believes that some junior members of her leadership team, as well as moderate -- or "Blue Dog" -- Democrats, have been "aiding and abetting" the media in pursuing her ever-changing story on whether she was briefed about or had knowledge of the CIA enhanced interrogation techniques. Give it time... eventually, Pelosi will blame those shifty colored Mess Boys for eating the ice cream and strawberries.
Oops, I mean briefing her on waterboarding.

Did you hear her READ her prepared statement (like BO, she can speak without a script)?
Then, when she was questioned, after reading her statement, she couldn't even answer questions defending the statement she just read. Instead, she said, "let me read my statment again." Then when she did, she was so flustered, she screwed that up, too. It would have been sad if she didn't deserve every bit of the embarassment. I predict she will be out after the mid-term elections, if not sooner.
The comparison between Pelosi & Queeg makes sense. But I still think Bogie would beat her in a beauty contest, hands down.
