As The Trickle Turns Into A Flood
The Pope needs to hammer these people ASAP

WARNING! Harsh language alert!

Open rebellion. That's the only way I see it. And it needs to be the pope himself to come down hard on these idiots. God knows he can't count on the bishops.

I find it amazing that Archbishop Lefevbre was so-called "excommunicated" for defending the Traitional Latin Mass, but these idiots essentially tell the Catholic Church to go to hell, and are still memebers in good standing? What bullshit. Just as soon as this Maryknoll Fifth Columnist get his ass shit-canned, the rest of these Chicks With Pyx can pack their shit and haul ass, too.

Here's some of the article from The California Catholic Daily; (Emphasis mine)

"Medieval punishment”
National nuns’ group urges Vatican not to excommunicate defiant Maryknoll priest

A national group of nuns has come to the aid of a Maryknoll priest who has been told by the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith to renounce his support for women’s ordination or be excommunicated. The Vatican’s warning to Fr. Roy Bourgeois stems from an Aug. 8 ceremony at a Unitarian church in Lexington, Kentucky, during which Dana Reynolds, a Carmel-by-the-Sea woman who claims to be a Catholic bishop, participated with Bourgeois in the attempted ordination of a “womanpriest.”

In a press release, the National Coalition of American Nuns announced that more than 100 Roman Catholic nuns from 22 religious congregations have written the Vatican protesting the threatened excommunication of Bourgeois. The Dec. 12 letter, according to the NCAN announcement, says the Vatican's excommunication threat "has diminished our Church."

The nuns expressed the view that "excommunications depend not on edicts or laws, but on compliance" by the faithful, so that, if the faithful do not exclude or shun someone from the community, they are not excommunicated. The letter asserts that Bourgeois is not outside the community because the nuns themselves "embrace him wholeheartedly."

"In the first century, Christians resolved their disagreements about following traditions such as circumcision and kosher dietary laws by dialogue and discussion," said Sister Beth Rindler, speaking for NCAN. "We need to follow their example by promoting public discussion about the ordination of women," the Franciscan Sister said.

"We hope the excommunication is not issued," said Dominican Sister Donna Quinn, one of the coordinators of NCAN. "The medieval punishment of excommunication serves only to embarrass our Church in the eyes of the world and fuels further anger and resentment among the U.S. faithful." (Really? It'll tickle the livin' shit outta me.)

"Many of the signers have served the Church for more than 40 or 50 years. Many are prominent leaders in their fields," said Loretto Sister Jeannine Gramick, another NCAN coordinator. She pointed to Mercy Sister Theresa Kane, who made worldwide headlines when she asked Pope John Paul II to open all ministries to women on the occasion of his first visit to the U.S in 1979, and Dominican Sister Carol Coston, who founded Network, a Catholic social justice lobby. She also noted the signatures of Benedictine Sister Joan Chittister, a prolific writer in the field of spirituality, Notre Dame Sister Ivone Gebara, a noted Brazilian feminist theologian, and Loretto Sister Maureen Fiedler, host of the public radio show Interfaith Voices.

The nuns' statement said they "join Fr. Roy Bourgeois and the majority of U.S. Catholics, who believe that women are called to priestly ordination in the Catholic Church."

Well then you can join Father Roy Bourgeois when he is excommunicated. The only thing you do with your support is identify more targets, which is good for those of us who want you identified!

Truth isn't decided by a democratic vote.

This sickens me...You know looking at the English translation of some of these NO prayers it's no wonder this crap goes on.

The majority of "Catholics" have no idea of anything going on, let alone, have an opinion (which is all it is) about ordaining women. Those that truly care about the Church are few (IMHO)

Totally agree - Archbishop Lefevbre was excommunicated of "disobedience." Bourgeois is teaching heresy and those 1960s-radical-feminists-without-habits religious Sisters (technically, they are not "nuns" because they are not cloistered) are endorsing his heresy. They should follow him out the door. Why don't they just go join the other heretics in Womynpriests and stop trying to tear down the Church from within?

Pardon my french, but WTF is a "religious sister"?! Either you're a nun or you're not. The pope needs to S-can these heretics post haste because THEY'RE NOT GOING TO DO THE HONEST THING AND LEAVE!

Wow, who know "religious" sisters were more powerful than the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church!

/sarcasm off

Filth and more filth. They lie when they say that the majority supports them, but they actually have to believe it or their house of cards all falls to chaos.

I suppose we can be glad these chickens didn't marry anyone and inflict this disaster on Holy Matrimony, too.

The following were posted, but I accidentally deleted them --

Al:

Since Sr. Beth Rindler wants to go back to the 1st Century she might do well to remember what happenned when people lied to the Pope. Remember Ananias & Saphira were struck dead. Maybe God ought to revive that tradition with a few of these disidents. (Acts 5)

She also might do well to remember that Christ instituted excommunication for the Catholic Church. So, I guess the Pope has followed the example of the early Church.

Note to Sr. Donna, it is you who are the embarrassment, not this excommunication. It may fuel the anger & resentment of you "UNfaithful" but not us who are truly faithful.

I'd also like to know in what reality the "majority of US Catholics" want women ordained? none that I know of.

For 2000 years people have dissented against the Catholic Church & claimed that the would win out. So far they are batting zero. Only a group as delusional as this would think that they would beed the odds, esp when it is the Holy Spirit they are going up against.

The Vatican is, always will be, and cannot help but be faithful in her teachings. She will not be moved by this twaddle.

And I have every reason to believe that Fr. Bourgeois will be excommunicated. Perhaps the message will save a few. We certainly can and should pray for that.

And as anything is possible with God, Fr. Bourgeois may even repent! Should he do so and rejoin the Church, great will be the rejoicing in Heaven. I pray I may join it.

I'd always been skeptical of Fr. Bourgeois and the SOA Watch but had the wool pulled over my eyes a few years ago when Newman wanted to support it. Considering that many graduates of the SOA were responsible for the murder and torture of priests, nuns, and Bishops I figured it was legitimate. In the slick video about the protest at Ft. Benning I didn't see any Palestinian flags, women-priests, commies, or 9/11 conspiracy theorists. I suppose they edited those out, because when some fellow parishioners posted their photos of the protest what did I see? All of the above. Chicks with Pyx. Commies. The War Resisters (Traitors) League. Code Pink. Those scary puppets you see at Call to Action masses. And "Bishop" Gumbleton was in tow as well!

I also found out that the SOA watch supports Hugo Chavez and Castro while lambasting our democratic ally Uribe of Columbia.

Bourgeois has revealed himself as the hesariarch and 60s radical he always was, hiding behind the banner of peace and justice like so many nutcases. If I have my way, (and knowing how things work there, probably not) Newman will never spend one more penny subsidizing a trip down to the SOA watch.

C,
Excellent points. And one thin Pax Christi forgets, is that the VAST majority of the Officers of the Latin American democracies are grads of the SOA.

Yep, those horrid SOA grads are the same ones who fight Shining Path Communists and Narco-Terrorists.

Oh... and there are Catholic Chaplains assigned to the SOA.

Funny how that stuff is forgotten about.

By who's counting is that? If that were the case, then Mary the blessed mother of our lord would have been the first to would have become one of the apostles. Just as the liberals have been doing in the United States, they are trying to re-write the constitution, and re-interpret what the founding fathers meant in what was originally set up in our country.

The only people who have Female Priests, are the prostestants who are the rogues that broke away from the catholic church. If these nuns and Fr Roy Bourgeois want to, they can leave the Catholic church anytime they want to. The nuns' statement said they "join Fr. Roy Bourgeois and the majority of U.S. Catholics, who believe that women are called to priestly ordination in the Catholic Church. To have the tail wag the dog would be stupid by any accounts. Did you ever see Mother Teresa of India express her desires to become priestly? Read again St. Pauls Romans, you can see that even a progressive like St Paul never tried to change the Catholic Church as it had been set up.
