Whoda Thunkit?
Heretical "Catholic" parish in bed with homosexuals (pun intended)

Helmet tip to my goomba Unitas over at Altare Dei

Not too long ago, I posted the story concerning the so-called "Catholic" parish (Most Holy Redeemer) in San Francisco (what a shock) that not only held a "Gay Mass", but also had its parish priest, Father Stephen Meriweather, bless participants in the San Francisco's annual gay pride march.

Said parish priest also has held such activities as transvestite bingo nights during which sex toys and pornographic DVDs were handed out as prizes. And of course the anti-Catholic bunch "The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" (above right) were the ones who were in charge during queer bingo nights.

But anyhow, it's been hitting the Catholic blogosphere that the infamous San Francisco Folsom Street Fair is about to kick off... and the organizers of which have portrayed Christ and his disciples as half-naked homosexual sadomasochists in the event's promotional advertisement.

But guess what fellow bloglodytes? Most Holy Redeemer "Catholic" parish is right in there with in line with the festivities. Get ready for this... the "SF Desperate Divas 2008 Drag Calendar Grand Pageant" will be held on Sept 29th. Here's the description from the website;

Twelve of the Bay Area's most delicious drag divas will compete for the Crown and Title of Miss Desperate Diva 2008, culminating in the big reveal of who will grace the cover of the 2008 Desperate Divas Drag calendar, which will be available for purchase for the first time at the event.

It went on to state;

We must reinvent change. This year's theme: TRANSITIONS implies willful change. Leading the change. Being in the drivers seat of life. We will use our calendar to inspire people to make changes in their personal lives to overcome obstacles and to get to a better space. To live a powerful life. To live with Hope. To rise up and take life. To no longer live in the shadows with the shadow people. To grab the spotlight and make it shine on you. To shout to the world "I Am Worthy". To show the world just how miraculous we are. (So what does any of that have to do with a bunch of circus freaks posing for an equally freakish calender? But silly me. These folks consider a fecally encrusted penis to be "normal".)

To be disabled. To be poor. To have AIDS. To be outside the gender norm. To be everything that is hated and scorned and to still be FABULOUS. (As long as you're fabulous...)

TRANSITIONS is to take the cross of oppression we've been bearing, to turn it upside down and use it as our stage. (Our Crosses come in many forms. I don't think "stage form" is one of them)

Now take a wild guess where this is being held. You guessed it... Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. And this abomination will take place on the eve of the Folsom Street Fair.

Do you think the timing is coincidental? Me neither.

OK so I am done laughing at your witty commentary but I have a serious question, HOW can this be allowed to occur? Why wont the Bishops do something?
This is such an attack on the Church and nobody is doing anything, why?????

Also on a side note as I read on another blog, the sponsor of those hideous ads for the SF Fair has requested that they be disassociated from them.

This has gone on for too long.

Thank God I'm not Pope. That bishop and parish would be ecommunicated for continuous, obstinate defiance to infallible Catholic doctrine.

God help the priests of that parish that are leading so many souls astray.

Go to the left side of my blog and click on the picture of Our Lady of Akita. That will answer your question.

Thank you.
That explains part of it, but why doesn't Rome do something about?
Perhaps something along the lines of what Unitas suggests above?
Sorry for the seemingly stupid questions (fairly new convert) but I just can not grasp the reason for allowing this to continue!

All I can imagen is this is His way of allowing the cockroaches within The Church the opportunity to show themselves before He squashes 'em!

But seriously, I don't know why The Lord allows this to continue. The only thing that I'm absolutely sure of, is that He won't take this for much longer.

I think that the Pope, and his predecessor John Paul, are walking softly here to take the "biological option"--and allow the bishop to age out.

If they suspend him, there is areally grave risk of schism. Not that the movers and shakers of such schism are such a great loss, but because a lot of folks in the pews would be confused.

I'm willing to bet that the faithful Catholics thereabouts never darken the door of the parish.

Of course, we could just write to the Nuncia and ask that this embarassment, along with Joan of Arc parish, be disciplined.

But I think that 40 years of neglect and the truce of '68 can't be undone in a fell swoop.

Personnaly, this causes me to want to become a Maronite Catholic! I almost changed my rite in 83-84, but Uncle Sugar sent me overseas!

Although those sodomitic abominations have been allowed to go on far too long, maybe we can hope that the bishop will finally do something. The parish notes that he will visit and "preside" on October 7th. He will also preach. I'm usually not an optimist, (but, hey, we got the motu proprio!) and maybe the bishop will speak out courageously on the feast of our Lady of the Rosay. We need to pray for him.

The thing for me is - yes, the Catholics in the SF area may be confused by the removal of the priest/disciplining of the parish but shouldn't they already be confused that this continues to go on with the seeming support of Holy Mother Church?

Aren't the bishops supposed to protect our Church from sin and heresy, as their predecessors did? We believe the bishops are the descendants of Peter and the other disciples! What do you think Peter would say to this?

Maybe that is it... I feel like we should go to the bishops and ask them to wear a bracelet that says "WWPD" or What Would Peter Do?

I also do not understand how a bishop can allow this kind of pagan crap to go on in his Catholic Church. Who is the bishop there anyway? He is doing grave harm to the faith of other Catholics who watch as this travesty happens with no word of discipline or correction from the bishop.

Maybe he doesn't know about it? I don't buy that, either. By turning a blind eye, he is condoning it. WAKE UP!!!!

PMG, "Who is the bishop there anyway?"

George H. Niederauer, who was installed in 2005. His predecessor is William Levada, who succeeded Ratzinger as prefect for the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith.

Ok, this is getting creepy:

Mahony, Brown, Trautman, Niederauer, and Levada all hit retirement age in 2011...

I recommend people to read Church history. It will help keep things in perspective.

God is bigger than any evil in His Church. HE is the ONLY reason His Church continues 2000 years later.

Everything you said is absolutely correct. I would like to add that we all need to read the warnings that God gave to His mother to give to us... specifically at Fatima and Akita.

Evil exists and is bound and determined to ensure that souls end up in hell. And sometimes evil wears a Roman Collar.
