Clergy and laity who pray for the Pope at every Mass or Protestants and other heretical sects?
Hat Tip to PreVat2
In the introduction to his report of an exclusive interview he had with Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), on Summorum Pontificum, Remnant columnist Brian Mershon, had this profound observation:
“The irony is that many Catholic bishops, priests and faithful who hold almost exclusively the sacramental ecclesiology [which defines Christians as having “degrees of unity” of communion with the Church instead of the more juridical understanding of “membership” in the Church] are often those to claim the SSPX is “outside” the Church, while at the same time calling Protestants “separated brethren” and refusing to use the terms “schismatic” or “heretic” to those who are further away from the body, heart and soul of the Church. In other words, they will often engage in ecumenical events and worship services with those who don’t share the same Faith and sacraments and no ordained priesthood, but will be the first to warn Catholics against attending Mass at an SSPX chapel with other Catholics.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Yep. They ain't called Roman Protestants for nothing!!
Dear Father Fellay,
There's a huge difference between poor outsiders, who have never been in the Church, nourishing themselves in Christ with only the crumbs of the Truth that us Catholics have left laying about outside --- though it will be so much better for them if we successfully bring them to the full Truth inside --- and a Catholic, a priest, with access and knowledge of the fullness of all the Truths of the Holy Faith, who throws it all away to run away out into the wilderness. Come Home, Father. Offer your life to Pope Benedict, the Successor of Peter, who will help you return to the One True and Catholic Church. Set down the rebellion and come Home. Please.
From your lips to God's ear, Karen. Amen.
KM,
You and Toni are perfect examples of those who attack the defenders of Tradition, yet constantly apologize for heretics.
BTW, since when were Protestants not in "rebellion"? I couldn't help but notice how you gave a free pass to the 30,000 sects of heretical Protestants, but lasar focused in on the SSPX.
The hypocracy from you and Toni is overwhelming.
Why do you presume that Tony, and I, do _not_ evangelize among the Protestants?
KM,
First off, I see the fruits of the style of evangelization that the likes of you and Tony have done. The soon to be ex-Protestants are simply beating the hinges off church doors waiting to convert, aren't they. Ummm... no they're not.
But mean ol' Rad-Trads like me have been wasting our time in our efforts to bring back the Traditional Latin Mass, huh? Oh... wait... we succeeded, didn't we? Deo Gratias.
Secondly, it's BISHOP Fellay.... not Father Fellay. After all, I'm sure that such a pious and devout woman such as yourself would never deny valid Apostolic Succession, now would you?
I do my best to be polite, but quite reserved, about the exalted claims of vagante hierarchs.
You most certainly are polite... and quite obstinant in your refusal to give credit where credit is due.
As history has already pointed out, if it were not for Abp Lefevbre (and the SSPX), there would never have been an Ecclesia Dei Commission, and hence, the recent Motu Proprio. In fact, as I've stated before, without Abp Lefevbre, the TLM would have been smothered to death decades ago.
You also fail to recognoze the next logical chronoligical step... seeing that initially it was everyone associated with the SSPX (to include laity) who was considered excommunicated, yet that was whittled down to just the clerics, Religious and 3d Order... and that was eventually whittled down to just the 4 bishops. Hmmm... from 1 million down to just 4.
But for whatever bizarre reason, you steadfastly refuse to be objective in your thought process.
KM, if you aren't a particularly big fan of the SSPX, then fine. That's your call. It was obvious days ago that we weren't getting anywhere. I see things one way, you see things differently. We agree to disagree. But for whatever reason, that isn't good enough for you.
So, due to your steadfast refusal to be objective (and downright obstinant), I've simply elected to ignore your constant "I hate the SSPX" posts.
To be perfectly honest, I've grown bored with you on this particular thread.
But if it makes you feel better about yourself to devote entire posts to me on your blog, that certainly is your call.
