Very funny! Working in a recovery room, the most often asked question and statement I get is:
"Why do I hurt, the doctor said it wouldn't hurt much." My standard answer is: "Well you just had your body cut into and even though we can take the edge off the pain, you will feel some pain." Then they ask, "but why does it hurt."

I have to cut them some slack--they are on drugs. So I give them more drugs but remain astounded that some think that cutting into your body is going to be pain free??

Yeah, I know we don't live in a third world country, be glad, at least you get the edge taken off the pain!; 9:52 PM
