Because I'm a proponent of the Tridentine Mass and everything associated with it, I've often been accused of wanting to drag the Church back to the Middle Ages.
Well, let's just take a gander at exactly what I want to 'drag' us back to, and what we've had shoved down our throats for 40+ years...

although I had to come back and point out that the crimes committed by that priest actually occured during the 'good old days'.

When you say "good old days", do you mean the 70's and 80's when the "spirit of Vatican II" was in full effect?
I think Sr. is referring to pre-VII days. Alas, we had wolves in sheep's clothing who preyed upon children even back then...

I believe she was reff'ing to Shanley, who committed those crimes during the 70's and 80's.
And sure, there were abuses pre-Vat II. But no where near the magnitude of present day
Ahh... the Middle Ages. When everyone went to church. The same one.
When fathers didn't abandon their families willy-nilly, and women married their children's daddies... first.
The time that gave us St. Robert Bellarmine, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Francis of Assissi, and the Council of Trent.
Of course, there wasn't any electricity - but there wasn't any MTV or internet porn either.
A time when people fully relied on God, because a flea could take you out and we hadn't discovered that "thinking" caused our existence.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Dominican Sister, as well as the CYO b'ball team.
If you look at the overall theme to the post, you can see that I'm comparing tried and true Catholicism to the new "spirit of Vatican II" disasters.
