Evolution, Columbine, Mormons, Katie Couric, Eating The Weak, And Becoming God
And how they all tie together
As most of us already know, CBS news is trying in desperation to come out of last place in the news ratings. Their solution? Hire worn-out and aging pixie, Katie Couric.
The good folks at CBS have tried a gimmick that has blasted back into their collective liberal faces.
They have instituted a "free speech" moment at the end of the broadcast. The other night, they had on Brian Rohrbough, father of one of the murdered students at Columbine High School, to comment on the recent shooting at the Amish school in Pennsylvania. (see the entire CBS video clip here, or the entire Fox video clip here complete with the interview with Mr. Rohrbough)
Mr. Rohrbough was the proverbial two 500 pound canisters of flaming napalm. Here's a wee bit of what he said;
This country is in a moral free fall. For over two generations, the public school system has taught in a moral vacuum, expelling God from the school and from the government, replacing Him with evolution, where the strong kill the weak without moral consequences. And life has no inherent value.
We teach there are no absolutes, no right or wrong. And I assure you, the murder of innocent children is always wrong, including by abortion.
Abortion has diminished the value of children. Suicide has become an acceptable action and has further emboldened these criminals. And we are seeing an epidemic increase in murder/suicide attacks on our children.
And Katie Couric's response? "We knew when we decided to put on this segment that a lot of people would disagree with it. We also knew some might even find it repugnant."
"Repugnant", huh? Typical and oh, so predictable of Humanist Liberals.
But anyhow, on the Fox News interview with Mr. Rohrbaugh, he stated that the Columbine killers had videos of them bragging that "the reason they were doing this is because of evolution, it's time to kill off the weak. And evolution gives them the right, even the obligation, to do so."
And another of the killers had a shirt that stated Natural Selection. As well as that in the diaries of the killers, one of them brags the following; "Sometime in april me and V (Klebold) will get revenge and will kick natural selection up a few notches".
That really got me to (re-)thinking evolution.
Evolution is sterile... antiseptic... soulless. There are no moral absolutes. No right and wrong. No good or evil. No love or hate. No redemption or culpability. Just natural selection, the survival of the fittest, only the strong survive, period.
And let's face it, folks... the American Public Schools are not only a "God-Free Zone", their also a "God-Hostile Zone". This is exactly what our kids are being force fed.
And allow me to be equally blunt, many of our own clerics don't have the 'nads to speak up and give hard hitting, honest sermons anymore. Generic, insipid, watered-down. Dare I say sterile... antiseptic... soulless? Enough of telling people what they want to hear, tell us faithful what we need to hear.
But getting back to evolution, not only is it acceptable and correct for the strong kill the weak, they often eat them. That's exactly what evolution teaches. Does Stem Cell Research ring a bell? Isn't that precisely what Stem Cell Research is? Kill the weak, then consume it. End of story.
Another thought to ponder concerning evolution... if we actually do evolve (and not just adapt to a particular environment), when and where does evolution ever end? Will we eventually evolve into pure energy... even become God? Isn't that exactly the ultimate result of evolution?
Mormons are big believers of evolution, just ask one of their missionaries. They actually believe that God The Father was once a mortal man who eventually evolved into God The Father. Mormons believe that Mormon men will one day be 'gods' of their own planet somewhere out there deep in the cosmos.
Mormons believe, because of evolution, they will one day be gods. Liberals, because of evolution, already think they're gods.

If I believed in evolution, but I might also support abortion -- but only for other people.
Abortion is a counter-survival behavior, but those who practice it often also strongly believe in evolution.
But they don't behave as if they do.
Evolution and natural selection doesn't lead to the strongest surviving neccesarily. Natural selection suggests that those most "biological fit" will survive and flourish. The measure of biological fitness is not strength, it is a measure of how many fertile offspring an organism, or population of organisms, can produce. For instance humans are much more biologically fit than chimps, we produce more offspring which in turn produce more offspring. Chimps are being killed and dieing faster than they are producing offspring so their population declines, at least in nature, while the human population explodes. The true problem with Harris and Kliebold was that they were unstable to begin with, put on anti-ADD meds, and then harassed. I don't mean to make excuses for them, they could have seeked help at anytime. If they misunderstood the theory of evolution then maybe the Biology teachers at Columbine needed to do a better job, but then again a lot of science teachers in more conservative areas of Colorado, not saying Littleton is conservative, are actually afraid to mention the word Evolution in the classroom because some pissed off parent will complain. You claim that Evolution somehow makes it ok to kill the weak, well that seems to show that you actually don't even know what Evolution is. Evolution is defined as change in allele frequency in a population from one generation to the next or in the course of several generations. We know this happens...we have observed speciation to even occur in animals with exceptionally short gestation periods (insects) and have documented speciation in some mammals (typically rodents). Evolution is not Anti-God, it is Religion Neutral, like all science. You just have to look at the evidence, such as shared ERVs (endogenous retroviruses), common ancestry is the only explaination for how two organisms can share and ERV, and humans, chimps, and bonobos share many ERVs.
Stem cell research, depending on what type of stem cell research you are talking about, has little to do with consumption of other organisms. Embryonic stem cell research, which has basically been banned in the US deals with embryos and the most useful type of stem cells, most stem cell lines were started using "left over" embryos made through invitro fertilization. If a couple changes their mind on invitro after the embryos have already been fertilized why not use the stem cells? We know from other types of stem cells that we can cure diseases with them. A good friend of mine actually had non-embryonic stem-cell therapy done, which allowed for his bone marrow to regenerate after it was all killed off with radiation for treatment of a very brutal type of cancer. He is now cancer free and the docs say he will probably live 20 more years instead of 10 more months as they first suggested when he was diagnosed.
I find Katie Couric repugnant.
Wakim,
No amount of verbal gymnastics on your part can ever excuse the fact that you are, indeed, making excuses for these two merderous scum.
And yet again, no amount of verbal gymnastics can change the fact that you are trying in vain to defend soulless evolution, and trying to paint a rosy picture of something that is, by definition, capable of being anything but sterile.
I particularly chuckled at your phrase "Religion Neutral". Wakim, nothing can ever be Religion Neutral. God is the Alpha and the Omega. That is unless one worships at the altar of evolution.
Speaking of the altar of evolution, I see that you stated "If a couple changes their mind on invitro after the embryos have already been fertilized why not use the stem cells?"
I see clearly what it is you sacrifice at your altar.
I may be a too simple minded but I fail to see how can anything in the universe be relgion neutral if God created everything in the world.
Without Him nothing that has been created would exist. (John 1:3 paraphrased)
