Oath Of Fidelity
It's The LAW!

As we used to say in the Marine Corps... this is pretty damn piss poor. There are well over 230 Catholic colleges and universities in the United States, and less than 20 have fulfilled the Canon Law requirement for the taking of the Oath of Fidelity to the Magesterium.

I know it's not a requirement for them, but I can't help but wonder how many Secondary and Primary Catholic schools have ever bother to do such. Hmmm.... Probably too overtly Catholic for most.

But anyhow, for those who don't know where to look, the Oath of Fidelity is right here. It's nothing reactionary. Nothing outlandish. Nothing unreasonable.

In fact, it's actually quite stunning in it's adherance to the very basics of Catholicism. Maybe that's why most schools won't do it.

Regarrding Catholic grade schools, would someone tell me what an "academy" is versus a "Catholic School."

I have seen signs that say, e.g. "St. Cosmos & Damien Catholic School" and others that says, e.g. "St. Ephrem Academy."

What's up with that? Are they ashamed to add "Catholic" to their name???
