Pope Holds Unscheduled Meeting With Spanish Opposition Leader
Where's Torquemada when we really need him?

The once great Catholic nation of Spain has literally lost it's mind... and soul along with it. If you say anything against homosexuals, you go to jail. Serious consideration of taxing The Church. Abortion on demand. Homosexual "marriage" and adoption. A gutless government that yields to terrorists.

Amid The Spanish nation taking AC/DC's advice on exactly what highway to take, the leader of the main opposition party, Mariano Rajoy of the center-right Parti Popular had an unscheduled and very private meeting with His Holiness.

Let's see if The Church has any muscle left in Europe. If we fail in SPAIN... how could we ever hope to regain the once great Catholic nations of Austria, Belgium, France, etc?

Stay tuned for further developments.

I am starting to get the feeling that maybe Catholicism in Europe is a sleeping giant.

That Giant may be in a coma right now and wasting away but time is on our side. As leftists whittle there numbers with each generation with contraception, abortions, childless marriages, gay marriages, and euthanisa, the number of devout Catholics will slowly make up a steadily growing ratio in the population.

Also, even the children of secularists, raised in a secular society, sooner or later will behold with wonder the great Cathedrals their ancestors built, the great writings, art, and philosphy, of Christendom.

They will feel cheated by the emptiness of the culture of death, they will seek belifes that unlike revisionist secularism and militant Islam comply with natural law and elevate the human spirit.

Christian Europe could be due for the biggest comback since Lazurus, provided we keep praying, and the Holy Father and the Church stand their ground.

I agree with Fidei Defensor. However, I'm still nostalgic for Franco. He did his best to form Juan-Carlos as a Catholic King, but he failed. Immediately upon ascending the Throne, Juan-Carlos perjured himself and opened the door wide to the Revolution!

I agree with Fidei as well. The Spanish Catholics have been flexing their muscles and the Popular party led by Maria Aznar is in a virtual dead heat in the lates polls.

Poland isn't heading on a fast track to secularism as you might think. A very Catholic president received a round of condemnation from the European capitals because of his stance on Catholic morals.
