are you a former seminarian? Lots of Latin classes led to this addiction you have to translation. I love the last one.
Forgive me for being a Latin teacher, but I mean this with as much Christian charity as this sinner can offer:
"Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt" I would probably change to the future perfect, "fuerint"
"Australem Gratiam Dei" maybe..."Gratia" with the ablative.
Good stuff though, I must say!
Tom,
A former seminarian... ME!!?? Not at all. I'm just a guy with a computer and WAY too much time on his hands.
Actually, what I do is have a searchable Douay-Rheims Bible on one screen, and a seachable Vulgate Bible on another. I type in an English word or phrase on the DR, then get that particular passage and find it on the Vulgate.
From there I have a fairly good feeling that I've done it correct... and of course, I await the kindness of strangers like MAGISTER to fine tune my grammatical errors.
Magister,
Errors corrected. Thanks!
Looks like you're a fan of "Latin for All Occasions" too. :)
