Caveman, You So Crazy!!
I know... I know. Pride.

I initially posted this as a comment over at LA Catholic when P.Q. was asking how Mass was this past Sunday, where we attend.

If I say so myself... I do think it's fairly funny.

I GOTTA TELL YA!!!

Where I went to Mass this past Sunday SCARED ME!!!!

Four priests total and they sang the entire Mass in a language that sounded alot like Italian... but wasn't.

The priest who said the Mass itself was SO RUDE! He had his back to us the entire time and faced this little box in the middle of the table.

And all the kneeling!! Shessh... why should I kneel? And while I'm at it, no Sign of Peace! Everyone around me had their eyes closed and they seemed so far away... like they were concentrating on something other than me. Know what I mean? Hey, I just wanted someone to talk to!

Well, I don't think I'll go to Mass there anymore. Someone said the priests carried guns. I overheard somebody say that they all had Birettas.

Oh caveman, this is soooo good.

I'd rather be scared for the rest of my life than to be pacified in the other church.

Deo Gratias (sounds a lot like Italian, doesn't it?)

Aw, now, Caveman, at least you have a choice. Unfortunately, we here in So Cal ain't got much of that. Although I have to admit, at least at my parish we have priests who, in their homilies, TIE THE GOSEPL READING IN, versus just spewing out platitudes.

One of my friends, though, has clued me in on anearby parish with a dynamic - and conservative - pastor. Gotta go check it out!

Digital Hairshirt has hit the nail on the head about what the problem is with the New Mass...he's heard about a pastor (dynamic, conservative) at another parish. How many good Catholics today have to shop around looking for a good and loyal priest. Oh for the days of pre-Vat II when one could attend the exact same Mass anywhere in the world! The focus was on worshipping God and not how orthodox, or for some folks, how "modern," the priest was. Please Holy Father, give us back our Mass.

And to think that the horrible old Latin Mass actually converted entire nations to Christ, raised thousands to the altar as saints and pulled so many Protestants "across the Tiber."

On the other hand, me thinks the Novus Ordo "Mess" could not have done any of that, period! Please dear Lord, give us back the Mass of our fathers and the saints!
