gramps said...: Chris Mathews worked for Tip O'Neil who battled Reagan and lost for most of Reagans term in office. I suspect that Mathews was the guy setting up the strategy that always lost and Tip took it out on him. This created his animosity for anything conservative like a dog kicked every time he barked.
