We can only hope that's all he received. No canon law preventing the distribution of Sacramentals to pro-abort poltiicians, heck, they probabaly need them more than we do.
Could help him remember that when he is ashes, getting elected is not as important as the millions of babies he helped to kill. Oh Joe, say it ain't so...

Of course, we'd all like to think that Biden is truly penitent. But I have a funny feeling that he's (yet again) telling the Catholic Church to go to hell.
VSC: You're right, probably just mere functionalism on the part of Biden, I'm not counting on any miracles here.
Either that, or one of his interns got into a fight with the toner cartridge while running off copies of the Tablet, and decided to take it out on his boss. ;)

Not to sound TOO judgemental, but those are probably his "I wish I were", his "I wannabe", or his "I want everyone to think I am" a good Catholic ashes.
For those who like longshots, maybe he really has repented.
Personally, (Lord, forgive me)I think we're seeing a politician who's finally figured out how to tell a lie without moving his lips!!
I am writing this in the new spirit of no longer being a coward and afraid to speak on the issue of race in our country. A friend had another thought on this. Biden has been starting to look like the stupid sidekick to the amazing Obama. Maybe that is getting under his skin a little since he is after all a Senator with years of experience. Remember he said very strongly in the campaign that Obama did not have the experience to be President. So maybe Joe is doing the following:
Is it possible that Biden is trying to use a little blackface in this picture and forgot to wipe it off. Here from Wikipedia:

Maybe Joe feels like he has become that happy go lucky Joe and believes that Obama is getting a pass on every mistake he makes because he is the first black president.
According to reliable reports, Biden left Mass early & didn't receive Communion.
All this was was another of his appearing to be a good Catholic. I think that is called "bearing false witness".
