The USCCB Decides To Be Catholic
Is this the part where I'm suppose to thank them?
Let the back-slapping and group hugs begin - The USCCB finally had their testicles drop and stood up (and walked away from) an anti-Catholic group of thugs.
Gee, thanks guys. Pardon me if I don't fall all over myself rushing to congratulate you.
Here's some of the article from LifeSiteNews.com; (Emphasis mine)
U.S. Bishops Withdraw from Pro-Abortion, Homosexualist Civil Rights Coalition
WASHINGTON, D.C., May 19, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has pulled out of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a coalition that lobbies against pro-life and pro-family legislation and boasts top pro-abortion and homosexualist groups among its members.
The break was confirmed in a release sent to LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) by Sister Mary Ann Walsh, USCCB Director of Media Relations, on Wednesday afternoon.
The release stated that the bishops withdrew following the group's published support for the pro-abortion and homosexualist Supreme Court nominee, Solicitor General Elena Kagan, which was pointed out earlier this week by Deal Hudson of Catholic Advocate and reported by LSN Tuesday. (Gee, the USCCB didn't already know this stuff? Guess not.)
In withdrawing from the coalition, the USCCB "reiterated its commitment to oppose discrimination based on race, religion, sex, ethnicity, disabling condition, or age, and said that these are grave injustices and affronts to human dignity." (Don't know 'bout you, but I just love the "we're still liberal!" qualifier here.)
Sorry if I sound skeptical... but the USCCB makes me want to vomit. I'm through with them.

Their egregious and spectacular failures of the last 45 years are indeed revolting. That does not change the efficacy of the Sacrament of Holy Orders which they have received, nor their great need for our prayers.
Do you really think they did this all on their own, without any effort from the Enemy to corrupt them?
And as for "discrimination based on race, religion, sex, ethnicity, disabling condition, or age," ESPECIALLY when encoded into law, or used as an excuse for malice, cruelty, or unfairness, that really DOES constitute "grave injustices and affronts to human dignity."
Insult to Holy Order? Of course not. Fed up and disgusted with the USCCB in general? Absolutley.
The USCCB has no authority, Christ did not give His power to commitees He gave it to individual souls. It is individual Bishops who have authority and that authority is limited to their own diocese.
The USCCB is not a Bishop, there is no Bishop of the USA and therefore no one who has supreme spiritual authority of the nation.
The Pope having authority over the entire world alone has the power to command the whole of the American people.
In reality the USCCB is ran largely by laity who misuse the trust placed in them by the Church due to their own corrupt love of themselves and the world.
It is not representative of all the Bishops of the USA as it claims to be and on which claim its authority rests as is easily shown by the brave examples offered to us by true and orthodox Bishops who dare to exert the authority bestowed upon by Christ despite the venom and hatred this rises among the Judas' who wish to steal bride of Christ for themselves and their anti-Christian masters.
Yes me must pray for them, but we must also act to protect ourselves and others from their unorthodoxy for the common good of the entire American people who otherwise might be led astray into the jaws of death.
