PELOSI: Buy a $15,000 Policy or Go to Jail
JCT Confirms Failure to Comply with Democrats’ Mandate Can Lead to 5 Years in Jail
Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.

So those of us with health insurance have a 2.5 tax levied on our income? If so, then it's another "O" lie who said he will not raise taxes. Yes, I am not so naive as to believe him in the first place.
What happens to the homeless? Most of them are too poor to pay for anything.
No. The way I understand it is either you pay $15k/year OR the 2.5% tax; failure to do one or the other lands you in jail.
Just for the record, $15/k year = $1,250/mo. I'm unemployed, and with taxes, my husband's take-home pay is far less than that each pay period. So I guess we'll be going to jail, which will be okay because - come January - we're going to not be able to pay rent or utilities anyway (since finding a job with 10% unemployment is all but impossible).
At least we'll have a bed and three squares a day. And probably better health care than people on the outside.
Amy, God will provide. Have faith!!

Has anyone yet seen the long column of farmers with pitchforks and torches marching up the path to the mansion, where Dr. Frankenstein ... er, uh, Madame Pelosi is creating new life with a lightening bolt from the global warming realm?
