Re-Writing History 101
Minions in the attack mode
Scott Whitlock over at NewsBusters.org nails Newsweek to the wall... as they so richly deserve. Here's some of the article;
Newsweek.com Skips Obama’s Snub of Berlin Wall, Pretends He’s Already Been There
A Newsweek.com article on Tuesday celebrated historic speeches by U.S. Presidents at the Berlin Wall, somehow ignoring the fact that Barack Obama has decided not to go to Germany to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the collapse of communism. At the same time, the piece, by Anita Kirpalani, pretended that President Obama has made such a trip.
The article, entitled, "Ich Bin Ein Speechmaker: Historic speeches by visiting American presidents have left an outsize footprint on Berlin," listed visits by John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Obama’s entry insisted, "President: Barack Obama- Date: July 24, 2008." This was prior to his election and was only in the city of Berlin, not at the wall. The article notes these facts. So, why list him as President when he wasn't? The rest of the piece is vague on this point.
Kirpalani began, "Five American presidents delivered addresses at the Berlin Wall and, 20 years after its fall, the city is still considered a prime venue for American presidents to deliver important speeches." No mention is made of the President’s decision to snub German President Angela Merkel and not attend the upcoming 20th anniversary ceremonies.
In a 20th anniversary piece on the fall of the Berlin Wall, the very least Newsweek could do is acknowledge the bewildering decision by Obama to turn down an invitation to Germany.

Gee, this reminds me of how Stalin used to rewrite history.
It also shows how much the Main Stream Media worships at the altar of Obama the Messiah when they see his election as president as a fait acompli even before he actually was elected.
Obama won't celebrate at the Berlin Wall until it goes back up.
Has the Bloggist ever visited the Berlin wall? Much of it is torn down. Some remnants are left in the streets where one might stand astride. What's left for the most part has been heavily graffitied in close proximity to artist/crackhead studios. Near Checkpoint Charlie Cold War the gray cement buildings still persist and permeate the area with a bit of a rundown presence.
Who built the Wall? (Who stood guard at Checkpoint Charlie?) Who tore the Wall down?
Essentially, the matter is a once-divided German business, (otherwise we would've dropped an A-bomb on them, eh?) in which perhaps is a strong signal is being sent by our President... that the US isn't going to 'meddle' in the affairs of those meant to develop their own courageous backbone?
We have enough civil strife and dissension among out midst. Heavens, we can't even elect an able leader without a lot of disguised prejudice.
Has the Bloggist ever visited the Berlin wall? No, and I haven't been to the moon, either. So what's your point?
Who built the Wall? The Communists. Russian supervision and E. German labor. Didn't you know that?
(Who stood guard at Checkpoint Charlie?) Ummm... the United States Army? I seem to recall reading that in all the papers.
Who tore the Wall down? Ummm... yet again, the Communists. After Ronald Reagan had broken their collective backs, economically. Didn't you know that?
Essentially, the matter is a once-divided German business Yeah, all those Russian Divisions were just a figment of my imagination. Silly me.
Heavens, we can't even elect an able leader without a lot of disguised prejudice. Give me just one example of "disguised prejudice". I know that you liberals simply cannot help yourselves when it comes to playing ther race card. That must be symptomatic when it comes to drinking the Obamination Kool Aid.

Strong signal of non-interference? What kinda nonsense if this? Presidents have shown up for the anniversary as a courtesy to our ally. It's called diplomacy. Geez.

Are you surprised? Although there were many Democrats like Charlie Wilson and Scoop Jackson who fought against Soviet totalitarianism, Obama-style Democrats back in the 70s and 80s did all they could to KEEP the Berlin Wall up. Besides, Obama doesn't want to give Reagan and other conservatives credit for their role in destroying the Communist Empire.
