Please Stop Telling Me These Are Just Two Versions Of The Same Mass

Can we supress the top one?
Sheesh...for once I was clever enough to fortify myself by watching the 2nd clip first, then the French (shocker!) one. Now I feel the need to shower or at least brush my teeth to combat the taste of bile....
The last shall indeed be first, and the first shall be last, eh?
I seriously could stand only 13 seconds of the former, and could watch the latter forever. Looks just like a paired down version of the St. John Chrysostom DL.
Take a gander at the eldest one...he's not sure, what the heck to do. What a bunch of hokey-pokies. Bet ya just couldn't wait to get in their line for confession!? EEEEEE GADS!
Watered down??? VSC, you're getting soft there brother. That was a hosing!!!
I let my 11 year old watch these. He wouldn't believe that the French one was actually a Mass.
I couldn't even look at the second after watching some of the first. Sick to my stomach and in a horribly vile mood. This is not the disposition to be in even just to watch the Mass of the Ages on You Tube Will have to watch the 2nd one later, after one . . . two . . . three . . . . single malts (scotch).
Wow. Ermm... I really can't say much.... other then I got to see and venerate a relic of St. Mary Magdalene this weekend (neener neener neener). Photos on my blog....
Okay, they are NOT two versions of the same rite. Papa Benedict was talking diplomatic waffle to restrain his bishops.
His REAL opinion is coming out in the SSPX - Vatican talks.
Isn't this sort of like the "Emperor has no clothes"situation?
We are pretending that we basically have the same liturgy celebrated in two different ways. When you look at both liturgies, you can see the Liturgy of the Word (Mass of the Catechumens) and the Liturgy of the Eucharist (Mass of the Faithful). But we already have these in the Byzantine liturgy which is a different rite from the Roman Rite. In my experience, however, and IMHO, the Byzantine Rite's Divine Liturgy is closer to the TLM than is the N.O.M. But the N.O.M. is the Roman Rite and the TLM is the Roman Rite, but the two do not seem to mesh at all. Different calendars (which are correctable) and different liturgical cultures.
I had once stated on another Forum that IMHO the two "Roman Rites" are fundamentally incompatible. IOW, one must ultimately give way to the other. I will be curious to see what happens in the next few years.
