Have You Guys Been To An American Novus Ordo Parish Lately?
With very, very, VERY few exceptions
Turns out that some mook in Ireland had his punk card pulled by The Holy Mother. And here's what "the manager" (Hey... I know things are bad, but did Ireland just run out of priests?) of The Shrine in Knock had to say about the false apparition that obviously, never happened;
“The atmosphere was like a social occasion. People were talking, people were on the phone, taking photographs. There was no sense of dignity in the building at all.” And this is different for the vast majority of American parishes... how?

Cavey, where did you get the picture? Are you sure it's a "Catholic" ceremony in lieu of one of the really off the deep end Episcopalian or other Protestant ceremonies?
Is that "Priest" wearing shower shoes????????
"Blessed are you, deity of indeterminable gender, Through your goodness we have this pretzel to offer, which we got from the mall and Auntie Annie's made. It will become for us a symbol of how we are Jesus to one another."
I've seen this photo before, and unless I am mistaken, this was taken at a Catholic Worker house. Dorothy Day would not have approved.
Oy, wasn't that pic taken in Mahoney's archdiocese? Sure looks familiar. Muaa, ha, ha, ha.....
Ever noticed the type of people who attend these "masses?" The older ones are usually the Marxist-social justice-"spirit of Vatican II"-grey-haired-1968 hippy types. The younger ones are those Leftist, multi-culturist types. Add to that, the guys are usually Beta males, too. Ugh!
Hmmm...I wonder if this bunch will pray the rosary or have Bible study after "mass?" Maybe catch up on the Magisterium?...Probably not!
"Dorothy Day would not have approved."
Dorothy Day would not approve of a lot of the things being done at Catholic Worker Houses these days. Including a huge majority of them supporting abortion.
"Beta male" ?! Never heard greek letters applied to people.
I did get to know some wolves, one alpha male, one omega male and one female (and her nine cubs).
Even this omega male wolf weighed in at 175# and could spring onto the hood of a car with only a slight flick of his paws. He required a muzzle when being walked in the park. The reason he was the omega and not the alpha is the alpha weighed in at 280# and stood over 7 feet. I ran into this one in the pet store one day.
And the only greek letters I recall from my early college days long ago were the ones associated with wild parties, where all the males were alpha males ... much more exciting community than "Lake Wobegone" of NPR fame, I mean notoriety.
"Beta male" ... now that is a good term ...
We go to a Novus Ordo parish, but nothing like that picture. We just found that our priest has put his homilies on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=basilica+of+st+john+des+moines+iowa&search_type=&aq=f
From the DSM-Me
Beta Male: All of the parts; not much of the heart.
Ha, ha, ha...
Not all parishes are like that, though last week I had people near me who said "god's" instead of "his" and someone else just omitted the word altogether.
These are also the people who sit down before the priest does.
Has anyone noticed the resemblance of that priest to Norman Bates?
