Arkanabar Ilarsadin said...: Not 2000 years, but 6000 years of tradition. Much of our traditions regarding men as protectors are at least that old, if not older.

The average intelligence of men and women are about equal. However, women are more average than men. Thus, when you look for either morons or geniuses, you will find more men.

On a somewhat related point (and granted, I do live in a military town), it does my heart good to see how many Marines attend the TLM where I worship. (There may be men of other services there too, but no one wears his hair -- including officers -- like a Marine, so I can't pick them out.); 7:57 PM

I've spent a lot of years in the Episcopal Church, which regularly ordains women, and I never had a problem with it until recently. Visited a church in my hometown; all was well, it seemed pretty traditional, but their rector goes by the title of "Mother". Seriously, they call this woman "Mother Julie" (pseudonym) and she is their priest-- I DON'T THINK SO. God help me, I think my camel needs a chiropractor. And it really made me question the whole "women as priests" thing that I had unquestioningly accepted for years. I just don't think most of them are any good at it!! And I don't trust them; I'm too afraid they'll try to nurture me to death. Give me the real Faith; I'm pretty sure I can take it.

The following week I went to a Mass instead.; 11:18 AM
