Yes, I Have A VERY Big Problem With This
And as Catholics, you should too
WARNING! Harsh language alert!
I was perusing some pamphlet we received in the mail for various Catholic Teaching CD's. I was immediately suspect when I saw that their As Seen In: splash has such fine publications as;
- America Magazine
- National Catholic Reporter
- Commonweal
- The Tablet
That, and there were more S.J.'s that you could shake a stick at. You get the picture.
Anyhoo, I stumbled across a brief bio of one of the CD Presenters... a certain Father Ronald D Witherup, SS., Ph.D., Superior General of the Sulpician Order. His bio went on to state;"...he received his doctorate in biblical studies from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA." Hmmm... I know of no Catholic seminary in Richmond, Virginia. What could this be!?
Well, I read up a bit on the Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Turns out the proper name for this joint is the Union Theological Seminary & Presbyterian School of Christian Education.
How interesting. A Catholic priest received his doctorate at an institution that espouses heresy/error. Just to name a few:
- Denial of Papal Supremacy.
- Denial of certain Sacraments.
- Denial of The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
Either that, or the Presbyterians all just crossed the Tiber and that somehow got by me.
Anyhow, this is bullshit.
Dare I say, one would be hard pressed to find a Traddie priest who would attend a heretical "seminary". The Novus Ordo seems to make a habit of it.

Perhaps he "Poped" sometime after his biblical education?? The late Fr. Richard Neuhaus was a prominent Lutheran pastor possessed of a first rate theological education as a Protestant that put same to work on behalf of Holy Mother the Church when he converted. Now I am not saying that I agree with 100% of Fr. Neuhaus's views, but I perceive he was at least orthodox in the Faith.

I busted out laughing at that point.
Well, if you can't do it, give the stick to me. Make sure it's the Catholic stick, and I will not only shake it, I will knock them upside the head with it.
;)
