Thank God...
It's finally back
After forty long years, the Traditional Latin Mass returns to the Shrine. From the Diocese of Raleigh, NC official website;
Mass in the Extraordinary Form To Be Offered Monthly
Beginning in August, a regular Mass in the Extraordinary Form will be offered at St. Mary's Parish and Shrine in Wilmington on the last Sunday of each month at 7 p.m. The first of these, a Solemn High Mass, will take place on Sunday, August 30, with the Reverend Paul M. Parkerson as principal celebrant.
The Forma extraordinaria, commonly referred to as the Tridentine Mass, is also offered in four other churches in the Diocese of Raleigh: Sacred Heart Cathedral, 4:30pm on the First Sunday of every month; Sacred Heart Church in Dunn, at noon every Sunday; Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Rocky Mount, at 6 p.m. every Sunday; and St. Bernadette Church in Fuquay-Varina, at 9 a.m. every Tuesday.
Of course, I'm going to be posting on this a few more times as August 30th draws nearer. So in the meantime, if you know anyone from Camp Lejeune to Myrtle Beach to Fort Bragg, pass the word!

Deo Gratias!!!
If the monthly Mass draws decent attendance, it would likely justify (or at least be an argumetn for) a TLM every Sunday.
What are you all going to do to help that effort? You know most pastors won't run announcements in their Sunday bulletins, but it is worth a try. Send them an announcement EVERY Monday for inclusion in the next Sunday's bulletin.
Who's going to design a catchy flyer and have copies duplicated that can be hung uo in the back of churches or passed out at every Catholic function?
I'm sure there are plenty of other channels, e.g call five frineds and ask them to call five friends, etc.
Good luck!
Thanks for the advice FAB. My wife is already all over getting the word out. We went down to St. Mary's yesterday to their Catholic bookstore and made mention of the TLM coming to St. Mary's to one of the receptionists there and she did not believe it. She went to go find out(for whatever reason she didn't buy that it was posted on the dioceses website and was in total disbelief that it was going to be held there!) and came back saying that Father said that the TLM was indeed going to be held there, but it was NOT sponsered by St. Mary's(no Father, this one's sponsered by the Holy Spirit, thank you very much!), that is why it would not be in their bulletin(we did not even ask about it being in their bulletin at this point). So it looks like we are at least on our own in getting the word out down here, at least as far as the parish hosting the Mass and probably at a couple of others as well.
Thanks again brother, keep us in your prayers.
