I Am Only Going to Say This ONCE!
Warning! Very Harsh Language Alert!
To all of you narrow minded, prideful friggin' Catholics that think you have the right to tell the Holy Father what he should and should not do. Shut up so's I don't have to do it fer ya!
You might imagine that I am speaking to all the idiots that called the Holy Father out on his lifting of the excommunication of the SSPX Bishops (better known in modernists circles as the four horsemen of the apocalypse). If that is what you think then you would be only half right.
See there are a large number of self righteous indignant buffoons who were incensed and enraged by the lefty modernists for questioning the Holy Father's actions. However now, low and behold, those same "defenders of the faith" turn on the Holy Father because he gave an audience to the enemy of the traditionalist Nancy Pelosi. You have got to be kidding me you knuckle dragging morons. The Holy Father deserves your utmost respect and loyalty. Do not question his taking time to counsel someone who is desperately needing it. This is not Rodger "the Dodger" Mahoney were talking about.
People were clamming about saying things like, "The Holy Father has no business giving audience to the likes of Nancy Pelosi." Sounds to me like the same shit the Pharisees were saying. Next thing these numb nuts will be asking for is Barrabas.
I know this is a strong message but I shit you not, if you expect the Holy Father to continue to stick his neck out to bring the Church back into the shape it should be, you can't be pouncing on it the moment he does something you don't like. You think that it is possible that you may not know what is best, of course not, because you and you alone were the one that saved and kept tradition alive in the church. Better get that damned chip off your shoulder because if I see it, not only will I knock it off, but I will stick it where the sun don't shine.
Pope Benedict XVI, I got your back!

A mite brusque but well stated.
The best thing we can do for the Church, in my never to be humble opinion, is to pray for her and to be faithful to The Holy Father.
The Church is here to save sinners, that's ALL of us to whatever degree, even Nancy Pelosi.
Amen brother!
Viva il Papa!
Pelosi thought she could use the Pope but he played her like a violin.
I'm with you, Vir, I have no criticism for anything the Holy Father has done or said.
There are a few things I might wish he'd do or say, but God's time is not mine, and neither is the pope's.
But certainly, an important part of his job is to bring back into the fold those Catholics who have gone astray -- no matter which direction they've gone.
How about that petition to have the bishops deny communion to Pelosi, Biden, et al? Since when did the church become a democracy?
Mr. Simplex Vir:
Sir, I must commend you for this post. In fact, I hereby decree that you you receive the Kight Hood of Ss Michael and Martin, in the 2d degree, and all the dignities, priveleges, rights and honors pertaining there to!
Ummm---I just made the Knighthood of Ss Michael and Martin up, but you have it anyway.
Great post.
Adrienne--That's why I haven't signed that petition. I might write my bishop a letter, but I don't think it would be right to sign the petition.
Thank you for expressing my own frustration, which of course goes hand in hand with all the other slings and arrows thrown at the Pope since he was elected. I trust the Holy Spirit; I trust that the Holy Father knows just a bit more than I do (ya think?!); and I trust thousands of years of teaching. Oh, and all those jokers who aren't Catholic, they can stuff it and stop telling the Pope how to run OUR Church! (Can you tell I've got some pent up frustration over the SSPX/Pelosi/pick-any-decision-Papa-Bene-has-made debacles?)
The crap aimed at the Pope proves more folk need a stint in the military to learn following a lawful order never guarnatees you'll like the sucker!
Wow! Absolutely brilliant post! Amen!
Saint in the Making-
As a Protestant enjoying an examination of Catholicism, I would not dream of telling the Pope how to run the Catholic Church, and am appalled that there are "Catholics" who would do so. The whole point of the idea of apostolic succession is that spiritual authority exists here, and should be obeyed. My perusal so far has led me to the belief that the initial questioning of papal authority has led to questioning the authority of the Bible by many within Protestant churches. Also, I really like these decisions that Benedict has made, and I am praying for his continued leadership of the Catholic Church.
Joker? Nay, I am a barbarian!
Borrowing this for my blog (due credit of course).
The Pope publicly meets with Pelosi, doesn't allow he the photo op she would twist to suit her purposes & tells he what's what. Sounds to me like he did his part.
Meanwhile, unlike the Pope, Archbishop Niederauer has a secret meeting with her & she admits to thumbing her nose at him. So why is he still silent? the Pope provided him with the perfect opening to actually do something to correct her as she should be corrected.
Bring on the stakes and lets get some fire started. Burn a few dissenters and herotics and a lot of this will settle in place. I would really enjoy watching the burning of Nancy Peolosi covered by the media. Now that would truly be a pay per view event.
"How about that petition to have the bishops deny communion to Pelosi, Biden, et al? Since when did the church become a democracy?"
Since when is the enforcement of canon 915 at the discretion of bishops? Perhaps if they were doing their jobs there wouldn't be petitions asking them to.
Pope B16 is the bomb. It would not be possible to find a better man for the job at this particular time. He has a backbone of steel with the most humble and kind manner imaginable, plus he's kinda cute, and has a brain that outshines everyone I've ever met or heard of.
I may not agree with everything he does or says, but that is probably because I do not understand it sufficiently. Those who would speak publicly against him should do their research first rather than rush in to make asses of themselves, IMHO.
Their ain't no accounting for stupidity, and we seem to attract some of the stupidest in this Holy Mother Church. I guess we will take just about anyone in the end, eh? Lucky for me.
"Their ain't no accounting for stupidity, and we seem to attract some of the stupidest in this Holy Mother Church."
Must be that "Catholicism for Dummies" book. LOL.
Speaking of dummies, "their" should have been "there." Oh well.
"Catholicism for Dummies" is an excellent book, given both "Imprimatur" and "Nihil Obstat."
On the other hand, "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Catholicism" gives a variety of heresies equal weight to good doctrine.
