When There's No difference Between The Wolf And The Shepherd

One of the few bad memories I had in The Corps, was every so often there would be some young Corporal or Buck Sergeant (usually someone who was promoted way too quickly) who would have the responsibility to pass the word to the troops concerning an upcoming rather unpleasant task. And keep in mind, the troops aren't dummies... they can spot a phony and a weakling a mile away.
But anyhow, whenever Cpl. (or Sgt.) Gutless would make his sad pronouncement, invariably, the troops would moan and groan for effect. And without fail, Cpl. or Sgt. Gutless would fall back on "but it's not me... it's that lousy Gunny/1st Sgt/Company Commander, etc." And in time, the troops took great delight in reducing Cpl. (or Sgt.) Gutless to Cpl. (or Sgt.) Doormat.
As a matter of fact, we use to have a word for individuals like Cpl. (or Sgt.) Gutless... eventually, their brand spankin' new first name was either Private or PFC.
And sadly, The Catholic Church has MORE than their share of individuals like Cpl. and Sgt. Gutless. What's even worse, those in positions of power and authority within The Church don't seem to ever get around to shitcanning these ass-wipes... more often than not, they're promoted.

Vandals spray-painted swastikas and the message “Niederauer, Ratzinger – where is the love” on the front walls of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in San Francisco sometime Saturday night, Jan. 3, even though the parish is widely known as “gay-friendly.” Police are investigating the crime.
Most Holy Redeemer, located in the city’s Castro District, has repeatedly made news over the years for its homosexual-friendly activities: it is the parish where San Francisco Archbishop George Niederauer gave Communion to two transvestites dressed as nuns in 2007 (the archbishop later apologized), the parish where the same group of transvestite “nuns” – the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence – once held bingo games to raise money until they were kicked out on orders of the chancery in 2006, and the parish that regularly sends a contingent to each year’s San Francisco “gay pride” parade. According Jesuit Fr. Donal Godfrey, currently director of university ministry at the University of San Francisco, the parish is where the so-called “rainbow flag,” the banner of the homosexual-rights movement, was invented.
Fr. Steve Meriwether, pastor of Most Holy Redeemer, said his parishioners “actually share the vandals' sentiment against Prop 8,” according to a KCBS news report. "I think it's unfortunate that they selected our community to attack, because it's the wrong one," Fr. Meriwether told KCBS. (So who exactly is the right target? By the way... this guy's been telling The Church to go to hell for years now, and he's still running a parish? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over.)
Before California voters approved Proposition 8 in November, the constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages, an e-mailed flyer from Archbishop Niederauer supporting the proposition created a stir at Most Holy Redeemer, prompting a parishioner to compare the archbishop to political operative Karl Rove in a column published in the San Francisco Chronicle. The parish also announces the baptisms of the adopted children of same-sex couples in its weekly parish bulletin, including the names of the same-sex parents. Several lay functionaries at the parish have been “married” in same-sex ceremonies, though not in the church itself.
The New York-based Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights issued a statement yesterday condemning the vandalism, but placed some of the responsibility for such attacks on San Francisco’s elected leaders. Is a baptism of a same sex couple valid?
My mind tells me yes it is because it is not the childs fualt. secondly baptism confers grace on the child that sets it free from the original sin and the grip of the devil. Maybe the grace filled child might convert the same sex parents.
Excommunicate the pastor, burn down the church, and salt the earth it sat on.
This is what 40 years of doctrinal wishy-washiness has gotten us. SF needed a warrior (ala John Corapi Or Archbishop Burke)who could take the heat of pushing Church Teachings. Instead they sent an appeaser. The evil one is having a good belly laugh right about now.
pro-gay? well, if the vandals wanted to select a pro-gay Church, they should have selected St. M. Mary's, their conversion (the gays) is being more pro-gay than that other parish anyway.

Figures. Another hijacking of what should be a symbol of joy. Never again can the image of the rainbow be viewed upon as something innocent. All thanks to some fruitcakes operating from a Catholic parish.

Someone tell the Pope/Vatican/Whomever to send a real bishop to Sodom by the Sea to shut that place down, burn it to the ground and salt the earth. You can't shine ****, you can't make a lion turn to vegetables and you can't make the Faith appealing to those God has given up to vile lusts and a reprobate mind.
Or just surrender SF to Abp. Kyril of the Russian Church and he'll do it!
There was a good write up about this parish over at A Shepherds Voice. There were photos of the parish with a commentary about what's been going on there.
This reminds me of the L.A. Riots (which happened while I was attending Cal State Northridge in the San Fernando Valley). There were plenty on the faculty and amongst the student population who "agreed" with the rioters. Of course, none of them had their property burnt down, though when I called them on it, they loudly proclaimed they would be willing to give up their stuff to be burned -- this with all the courage of people who knew it would never happen, thanks to the fascistic police and National Guardsmen who were out there restoring order.
