The Only Thing In Sweden That Have Hydraulics Are The Volvos
'Cuz the menfolk sure as hell don't
First the Nordic Lion got de-wanged, now this. I swear, if you look up "wussy" in the dictionary, there's got to be a picture of a Swede next to it.
From The Local (Sweden); (Emphasis mine)Police hire protection in Malmö suburb
The police have contracted a security firm to help with the surveillance and protection of the police station in the Malmö suburb of Rosengård. In connection with unrest in Rosengård the station has on repeated occasions been the target of fireworks, vandalism and stone-throwing youths. (Golly, I wonder who these rambunctious 'utes are. "Did you just say "utes"?)
The security firm will be deployed to help to ensure that the vandalism is not repeated, according to a report by local TV4 news program. Michael Storm at Malmö police pointed out to TV4 that the move in no way meant that the police were unable to look after themselves.
The security firm will instead render it unnecessary for police officers to keep watch outside their own police station and free up resources for other duties. The firm will help the police to monitor those moving in and around the area. (Yeah, hire an outside agency to cover your six.... real smart.)
"We of course think that this is an insecure situation, but now it has happened and we are working on normalizing the situation," he said. (OK, you're going to "normalize" the situation with those Arab punks who run around Sweden wearing "2030 -- Then We Take Over" t-shirts.)

If the po;oce can look after themselves why do they need a private security firm?
Can you say "SPIN"?
I thought so!
Most likely the rent-a-cops only cost 50% of what a sworn officer would.
It's WallyWorld policing these days.
Sounds similar to what the US government did in Iraq with private contractors to perform guard duty freeing up the army to patrol and raid etc.
I dunno, VL. Granted, Blackwater did (and still does) a lot of security. But quite a bit, if not the majority, was for the Iraqis, and not the Americans.
And besides, I'm not sure that it's quite fair to compare a bunch of retired/former Marines, SEALs, and Army SF types, to a bunch of Swedish rent-a-cops. Especially that it a safe bet that many of these "Swedish" secutiry guys will have names like mohammed and achmed.
Not exactly the best bet for guys who will be "guarding" a building from stone throwing moslems.
