Hey Wait! Isn't the Holy Trinity on Our Side??
We seem to have forgotten that little nugget when waging spiritual warfare.
The last post on this blog "As Most Cower In Silence, A Few Take A Stand" got me so infuriated I felt I needed to post this little reminder.
WE HAVE THE HOLY TRINITY ON OUR SIDE, WHY WOULD WE FEAR OR RUN FROM ANYTHING??
I am not referring to those who have not made a public stand, they obviously do not believe the above or they are the enemy within working in cooperation with evil.
What I am referring to is the fact that the Bishop who spoke out did not even have any of the said hospitals under his purview. That is the equivalent of a man saying that he would never personally have an abortion.....DUH....you can't get pregnant so sorry no credit moron!
While I applaud his intention, what infuriates me is this presumption that these Catholic hospitals (regardless of the fact that many don't act like it) will have to close. That is nonsense, they most surely do not have to close. They have to stay open and they have to stand up to the bully tactics of the evil ridden souls that act against them.
If the government passed a Law lets call it the WOCO Act (Women Ordained Churches Only) so that any Church that refused to allow women ordination could not practice in this country would they just shut down all the Churches? Would they sell the Churches to denominations that do allow women to be ordained?
COME ON YOU FRIGGIN' COWARDS! WHY DO I THE STUPIDEST AND WEAKEST IN FAITH AMONG YOU HAVE TO POINT THIS OUT!!!
The answer is we fight on every single battle front. Bishops, Priests, Religious, and laity alike better be willing to go to jail over this. It is serious and it is not being helped by all this hand ringing whining. Fear undermines the souls ability to see clearly the evil before it in battle.
PLEASE GROW A SPINE WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU!!!

If the Catholic hospitals disobey a law requiring them to perform abortions, they will presumably incur fines, fines which will be set high enough to be ruinous. After the fines have accumulated, the state will seize the hospitals in order to collect the fines. Then the state will sell the hospitals to operators willing to comply with the law (ie perform abortions).
Closing the hospitals is a better option. That way, the hospitals are not just sold to someone who is willing to perform abortions. Maybe you keep one or two open nationally just to show the drama of the police seizing them (and maybe some nuns being dragged away in handcuffs). But most should be closed, not given away.
Amen and Amen!
Bill,
Fines, siezures, and Law..oh my. Fines, siezures, and Law..Oh My.
Fines, siesures, and Law..OH MY!
Good Grief! Is that what we are afraid of?
We should keep them open all of them Let them fine us let them take us out in cuffs. We will continue to fight. Bring out the lions will you already. I warn you my brothers in the USA if you cower to all this pressure now you will soon be come like Canada where Catholics have no voice at all, where bishops are fined and dragged to court for speaking the Catholic truth.
Easier said than done. Remember all the Operation Rescues blocking abortion chambers using the tactics of Martin Luther King? Most of the folks in churches wouldn't participate because "it was illegal!" Once Slick Willie took office, one of the first things passed was the FACE.
When BHO takes power, they're going to do the same things and the same slugs are going to use the same excuse.
My point is to not make threats - only make promises.
On balance, I think you've gotta fight.
It might mean a third collection on Sundays to pay legal costs or whatever to continually challenge and delay in the Courts; a litigious war of attrition. It might mean massive Catholic acts of peaceful civil disobedience to stop government officials from entering Catholic hospitals. It might mean nurses and doctors chaining themselves to radiators and orderlies emptying bedpans on the heads of police. It might mean a few brave Bishops threatening to excommunicate any official or judge or whatever who acts to enforce a fine.
It might be a huge financial cost. So be it. It's a fight for the soul of the Church and for the faith. Lose this, and you might as well shut down the Churches and stick your butts in the air for "Allah".
Besides, it's a better investment than paying off Rembert Weakland's catamite.
Having said that, there's likely to be a rehearsal of all this in the Australian State of Victoria, which just passed similar laws.
The Archbishop had threatened to close the hospitals (hell, if you're gonna do that, dynamite the buildings and all the equipment before you leave).
Then the director of Catholic Health gave a media interview where he basically said:
1. The laws were unconstitutional (violating religious freedom / freedom of conscience provisions in the State "Charter of Rights") and would be challenged in the courts, and
2. The Church would instruct doctors to break the law, rather than refer for abortions and the Church's referral policy would not change.
Waiting for the showdown...
