Why I Should Have Understood And Gotten In Touch With What Was Trying To Kill Me
Maybe the gangrene had a valid point!
For those that frequent The Lair, you'll remember that about a year and a half ago, I was very sick. Long story short - I have this weird inherited blood disorder (that I never knew I had 'till I got VERY sick) that thickens my blood to the point of blood clots. Something called Portal Vein Thrombosis , and the word Infarction kept getting thrown around. Something also about how blood clots caused a section of intestine to essentially die and gangrene set in.
I can't keep all that crap straight... I just remember having Last Rites read to me twice, and my wife crying a lot.
Anyhow, I'm just glad my doctors weren't priests from either Queensland or New South Wales down Australia way.
Here's some of the article from The Australian; (Emphasis mine)Church row escalates as priest denies Jesus was God
The controversy surrounding one of Australia's most radical Catholic churches, St Mary's South Brisbane, has escalated into a wider debate over bedrock Christian beliefs.
On the line for parishioners of St Mary's and several other parishes in Queensland and NSW are fundamental church doctrines such as who can celebrate Mass, whether Jesus Christ was God, whether Mary had as many as six children, the bodily Resurrection, and the need for sacramental celebrations for same-sex marriages.
In a booklet being sold for $20, a NSW priest, Peter Dresser of Coonamble in the Diocese of Bathurst, insists Jesus was not God and did not think he was God. The booklet is on sale at two Brisbane parishes: St Mary's and the Wooloowin/Windsor/Kalinga Parish of outspoken Brisbane priest Richard Pascoe.
In God is Big. Real Big! Father Dresser -- who prefers to be known as Peter -- says: "This whole matter regarding Jesus being God ... not only does violence to my own intelligence, but must be a sticking point for millions of people trying to make some kind of sense of the Christian religion ... No human being can ever be God, and Jesus was a human being. It is as simple as that."
In his book, Father Dresser claims Mary had as many as six children, Joseph was the father of Jesus and the bodily Resurrection is not to be taken literally. I sure would like to know where the hell the Ozzie bishops are. Methinks they've been taking ques from their American cousins for too long.
Much like how my doctors dealt with that section of gangrenous intestine that was killing me from the inside-out, it's time for the Ozzie bishops to heal with steel.

That calls for IMMEDIATE suspension.
Well, you've heard there's to be an inquiry, right? The bishop is very concerned (all of a sudden...) and has told them to shape up or he's coming in.
Of course, God has a sense of humor and loves bloggers like us, because all that's been in the news about them lately is them saying "SCREW YOU, BISHOP!"
... So if you're planning a trip to Oz, watch out for lightning. Don't stand near trees. Don't get in pools.
***The more you know...*** ;)
I'm glad he settled that. Now I can sleep in on Sunday and run my own pyramid scheme.
How many will be led astray before his bishop or the Vatican takes action?
laicize and excommunicate them on the spot enough is enough. It is better to get rid of this fluff and have few real believers than a mega church with no believers.
I'm going to take a wild guess, that this blasphemous heretic is not in Cardinal Pell's diocese. Their own bishop may be ignoring the situation, but don't paint all of Australia's bishops with the same brush.
