If The GOP Had Half A Brain...
But don't count on it

The RepubliCrat of the Year looks as if he's the GOP choice for Prez. Oh Well. One of the very few things that would make McCain palatable is his choice for Veep. Yeah, yeah, I know that the bottom of the ticket is essentially a beauty contest. The American version of Prince Harry... we all know that.

But if the Republicans had any sense at all, they's choose former Lt. Gov. of Maryland, Mike Steele. Besides being a solid pro-life Catholic, he's also got executive experience. And besides... think of all the liberal White Guilt he can tap into.

And here's my idea for a McCain/Steele bumper sticker:

J.C Watts from Oklahoma would be a good choice, too.

So why is McCain's name in such a large font? You're not a secret admirer, are you?

hahahahahahahaha - loved the bumper sticker. And, yes, he would be a great choice.

Sure, till they start calling him an Uncle Tom. Liberals seem to get away with multicultural racist crap as long as the person they are targeting isn’t “black enough”. One only has to look at Powell, Rice, and Thomas to see the double standard.

I like Steele and think he has a very bright future. However, he is not a good VP choice for one reason. He lost the only major race he has been involved in. Presidential candidates don't pick losers for running mates. Before anyone jumps, I'm not calling Steele a loser just pointing out the fact that he lost his last campaign whether we think he should have won or not.

Good point.

Dick Nixon lost the California Governor's race ("You won't have Richard Nixon to kick around anymore.") and then turned around and won, not only the GOP nomination, but the Presidency.

I don't think losing his last race in an overall bad year for Republicans across the board is a mark against Steele.

If Steele is McCain's running mate, the culture of life wins. Cheers

If Steele is on the ticket, I'll vote for McCain. Otherwise, I'm likely to write-in Newt Gingrich.
