Kumbayah Meets The Marines Hymn
Faith without works is dead ~ Douay-Rheims Bible, James 2:20
I saw this bit of sappy sentimentality as I was driving to work this morning --
Yeah... riiiiiiight. That's it. We should have sang the Japanese to death while they were attacking Pearl Harbor. Silly me.
So I think it's time for me to hunt one of these down and slap it to the back of my car --
After all, The Lord helps those who help themselves.

Now Cavey. You may be over reacting. Peace through Music? Why not? Are you forgetting that heavy metal classic, "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor!"
Semper Fi (Drop five-zero. Fire for effect. Over.)
This also reminds me of how in many places we are asked to pray for peace. Peace is in general a good thing. But there are things worse. So instead of praying for peace, I pray for victory. Which to my way of seeing things will bring peace.

Caveman: We could sing a nation to death. Have you seen a Gather hymnal recently?
In the spirit of the Pope's recent motu freeing the classical Latin Mass, let me chine in with this apt Latin phrase:
Sic vis pacem, parabellum.
If you want peace, prepare for war. (A concept President Reagan understood, which sped the downfall of the Soviet Union.)
Reminds me of the "Give Peace a Chance" bumper sticker. In response to this, I have thought of a bumper sticker with a silhouette of the two towers and an airplane flying toward them on it and which reads, "We gave peace a chance. Look what happened."
Fab said, "If you want peace, prepare for war. (A concept President Reagan understood, which sped the downfall of the Soviet Union.)"
Very intelligent man; he also believed in Mutually Assured Destruction.
MAD is powerless against jihadists who desire death and to take as many innocent people with them.
Unitas,
But I don't believe that Pres Reagan believed in MAD for every specific.
I'm sure Ronnie would know exactly how to deal with these eejits. Kinda like how our hostages were released the very same day he took office.
