How Archbishop Lefevbre, SSPX, Could Have Kept From Being Excommunicated

1. Abandon any notion of celebrating The Traditional Latin Mass... ever.

2. Embrace with all the fervor of a Rotweiller to a pork chop, the Polka Mass, the Hula Mass, the Animal Sacrifice Mass, the Hokey-Pokey Mass, the Joan Baez Mass, the Gay Mass, the Cowboy Mass, the Rock-'N-Roll Mass, the Gay Cowboy Rock-'N-Roll Mass, etc, etc.

3. Not only allow, but also endorse the usage of abortifacients at Catholic hospitals in his Archdiocese.

4. Attack, belittle, berate, and arrogantly dismiss everything pre-Vatican II, to include the vast majority of The Holy Bible and just about all of Sacred Tradition.

5. Embrace everything that "celebrates" the active homosexual lifestyle. And yes... the word "embrace" can be taken proverbially or literally. Just ask Archbishop Rembert "I Paid My Boyfriend $450,000 In Hush Money" Weakland.

6. Publicly kiss the ass of every pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, pro-stem cell research, pro-homosexual "civil union" politico in sight.
a. Not only kiss their ass, but kiss it soooooo hard, you can tell what they had for breakfast.

In others words, not act like a real bishop.

He may have actually avoided it by consecrating only one bishop.

The dude was a schismatic. Obedience is obedience. Welcome aboard the good ship dissent.

The SSPX people aren't coming back anyway, regardless of restoration of the tridentine.

Up to his point of rebellion, yes, Lefebvre was responsible, as one humble servant among many, in preserving and defending Christ's Church. When he disobeyed Rome, he ceased to be one humble servant among many.

His disobedience at that point probably set back the restoration by at least one (if not two) full decades.

Actually, before he consecrated the 4 bishops, he cited Canon Law (#1323), clearly showing that he was in the right.

Also, after the so-called "excommunication" he requested a Canonical Trial. Amazingly enough (insert sarcasm here) he was even denied his day in court.

Also, even if he was 100% wrong, that makes him simply schismatic, not heretical.

WC, do you hate the Greek Orthodox as much as you do the SSPX?

And yet again, WC... you paint with a pretty broad brush when you say thatthe SSPX folks aren't coming back anyways. I guess that's why Bishop Fellay has been meeting with The Holy Father and Cardinal Castrillon. Right?

You clearly just don't know what you're talking about.

The main point I wanted to raise was this --- what Abp Lefevbre did was, at worse, a schismatic act. What other bishops have done is to authorize the murder of innocent children.

So let me ask yet again... Archbishop Lefebre was "excommunicated" for WHAT, again?"

I love it when the veins start popping on VSC's neck over something like this!

No veins popping here. Except those in your imagination.

But let's breakdown our little time line here so I can fully dissect you, shall we?

1. I posted a story where I showed the absolute absurdity of an Archbishop who was so-called "excommunicated" for disobedience... and we have present day a multitude of bishops who authorize the murder of unborn children.

2. Two commenters decided to comment on Abp Lefevbre. OK... no problem. It's a deviation from the original intent... but no problem.

3. I pointed out a few things to the 2 commenters in question. About the closest I got to "nasty" was when I asked WC if she hated the G.O. as much as she does (as I percieve) the SSPX.

4. Then I get your rather childish post.

C'mon Anon... if you're going to try to slam me, at least put some thought into it. Try real hard to formulate an intelligent thought, instead of you snide comment that is more worthy of a 9 yr-old.

BTW, I notice you failed to say anything concerning my response to WC.

So predictable. Fish in a barrel.

Okay, this was a great post and anon, whether or not in the right frame of mind or no, made me laugh. These same things make my veins pop. "Could have all been avoided" might be a true theme. While Lefevbre is excommunicated, our present day bishops will do anything BUT defend Holy Mother Church.(not all some....okay majority, you know what I mean.)

Seems like the bishops you refer to are bonehead sin-approvers, so yeah, they deserve a hard kick in the pants or worse. But your SSPX boy? He was trying to wear the mantle of St. Peter. He was arguably worse. He formed a new magisterium to define the liturgy. Sounds reminiscent of the whole Satan vs God thing doesn't it? OK maybe the abortion-approving dudes deserve excommunication too, I could grant that if I knew more about that, but your SSPX boy deserved excommunication.

Once people have their own power base and own their own churches they never come back. That would be a voluntary surrender of power. Ain't gonna happen. I don't care what meetings are happening. Might happen if a new 'Eastern Rite' is created for Lefebvre's followers. Maybe we can call 'em bvre-ites for short.

when all said and done, the Archbishop may be one of the greatest saints of all time. Look at our Lady at Fatima and other apparitions, she warned that all of this would happen in the Church

"He formed a new magisterium to define the liturgy."

Anonymous, you ass, from where do you come up with your facts? The oft-unused portions of your own cerebrum or is this also from your Lindsay Lohan website?

Other than disputing some of the perceived errors of Vatican II (a pastoral council, not a doctinal council -- that means nothing was declared that we are bound to believe....oh, never mind), Archbishop Lefevbre and all the bishops of the SSPX believe everything the rest of us (well, except maybe you) believe. They say the same Mass the Church has been saying for 1500 years. They pray at every Mass for the current Pope -- previously Pope JPII and now Pope Benedict, whom they consider the Vicar of Christ.

Anon, have you ever been to an Mass celebrated by an SSPX priest? Read anything by the late archbishop or any of the current SSPX bishops?

Please continue to visit the Cave. You may learn something, but don't chimne in anymore unless you have something sensible to say. Your stupidity was cute at first. Now it's irritating.

bonehead sin-approvers

Anon, you're more watered down than American beer. Those idiots didn't just approve of killing babies.. they authorized it.

And do you really expect anyone to take you serious when you compare someone (who at worse) was disobedient, to someone (who at a minimum) authorized the killing of the unborn?

Are you even capable of seeing the difference?

Al Kopp isn't exactly a fan of Abp Lefevbre, but at least he was able to state such in a manner befitting someone who atcually thinks instead of having a knee-jerk reaction.

I swear... you liberals have the most twisted mindset I've ever seen.

But I do want to thank you, though. I knew when I typed out this posting, that the mere mention of Abp Lefevbre's name would send you and your ilk straight into orbit.

Sooooo predictable. Fish in a barell.

Nah, the liberal mindset is not twisted. Dissent=Dissent. We know we're in dissent and conservative traddies like Lefevbre are in some la la land where they think they're the pope and that only people aho disagree with them are in dissent. The stench of pride, arrogance, and hypocrisy cries out to heaven. And Satan says, "hmmm, smells like home". Isn't disobedience what Satan was really all about in the end?

Yet again, you fail to recognize the obvious. This post was about certain bishops who authorize murder, with nothing more than a side-note concerning Abp Lefevbre. And like Pavlov's Dog, you liberals went ballistic over the mere mention of his name.

But then again, I notice there wasn't much of a response from you concerning his citing of Canon Law, nor his rightful request of a Canonical trial. Hmmmm.....

Once people have their own power base and own their own churches they never come back. That would be a voluntary surrender of power. Ain't gonna happen. I don't care what meetings are happening.

Gee Anon, it's a good thing you weren't around when the almost 2 dozen Eastern Rite Churches reconciled with Rome. And some were in schism for centuries and centuries.
