JESUS, that's who!!!
Hat Tip to my good goomba Chris over at The World IMHO
Don't get me wrong. I dig sacred statuary the most. Icons are the ginchiest. I'm all about crucifixes, baby.
But this quasi-paganism has got to go.
Imagine sitting next to Jesus during the Last Supper. What would you say to Christ? How would this experience affect your faith?
A new interactive sculpture at St. Christopher Parish in Indianapolis invites people to sit outdoors at a table beside a life-size image of Christ and spend time in prayer or reflection. Father Michael Welch, pastor of St. Christopher, hopes people will "visit with Jesus" often at "The Last Supper" sculpture.
The bronze sculpture of Jesus breaking bread -- dedicated July 30 and located outside the Parish Activity Center and parish office -- will be illuminated at night so people can spend time there whenever they want -- or need -- to pray, the priest said.
Hey Father Skippy, I hate to break this to you, but that isn't Jesus. It's just a hunk of bronze. I have a novel idea... how about giving folks a real chance to visit with Jesus. You may have heard of it, it's called Eucharistic Adoration. Or is that too overtly Catholic?
Like my buddy Chris says ~ I don't care for this idea of 'sit next to Jesus' and 'be His buddy'. Why do people continually try to bring Jesus down to the level of man? Shouldn't we be aspiring to be Christ-like, not making Christ like us.

That statue looks like something I'd see at the Mormon visitor center plus the man in depicted seems way to old to be Jesus. I'll bet this is one of those parishes where you have to hunt to find the tabernacle.
My friend asked how much they charged for a Polaroid with Jesus!
LMAO

I DON'T NEED TO IMAGINE I am their every Sunday at Mass when the whole thing is taking place!
