What President Bush Is...
...and what he isn't
Don't let people fool you. The President is far from being the Great Savior of Conservatism as many like to portray him. If anything, he's the King of Status Quo.
I voted for President Bush, twice. I've support him in the War On Terror. It pretty much ends there.
Remember the so-called "debates" between Bush and Gore? Hell, they agreed more than they disagreed. Subtly nuanced differences on most topics. Any wonder why Pat Buchanan refers to the Republicans and Democrats as RepubliCrats?
Bush has done zilch point squat when it comes to protecting our borders. Millions of illegals have flooded into this nation. And the only time Bush has done the slightest thing about it, is when it was politically expedient. News flash.... a nation that can't control it's own borders will never be able to control it's own destiny.
Bush now want's to sell seven American ports to a company from the UAE. Ummm... Mr President, only three nations on the face of the earth recognized the Taliban government of Afghanistan, and the UAE was one of them. Terrorist money has flowed through the UAE more than the oil pumped out of it's ground. Many are angry over the President's stance on this not because we're anti-Arab. More correctly, because this just doesn't pass the smell test. The only reason Bush is in favor of this is because he doesn't want to look bad on the Arab Street. Ummm... Mr President, most of them already hate us. Do you recall the shit-storm raised over a couple of cartoons? No matter what you do, the moslems will riot and burn things down and kill people. News flash... they don't need a reason, just an excuse.
I for one am sick of hearing about how he is such a God fearing, conservative, born-again Christian he is. Four simple words why I feel this way; Don't Ask, Don't Tell. If Bush really was a God fearing, conservative, born-again Christian, then he could revoke D.A.D.T. with the stroke of a pen... but he won't. Why? Simple, it isn't politically expedient.

I think Bush deserves credit for his judicial nominations - although, I suppose, the jury is still out on whether they really are "in the mold of Scalia and Thomas".
Let me see if I get this right...Jimmy the Peanut gives our canal away and the Chicoms immediately lease the ports at either end. Bush the Second (yes, the jury still is out on his judicial nominations) wants to lease control of our six busiest ports to the United Arab Emirates, pissing off the leadership of both parties in both houses of Congress, says he will use his first ever presidential veto on any legislation that tries to stop the lease from going through, and the only person backing Dubya's play is Jimmy the Peanut? Something fishy is going on.
Whatever happened to: "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer"? C'mon, let's not panic. Just because the conglomerate is based in UAE doesn't mean that the port employees are all going to be aspiring Mujahedeen. It's still going to be Joe Blow America and the Longshoremen's union running the docks.
