Brokeback Parishes
Yeah, I stole the title idea from Jay

Ask most any priest who you just know is sodomite-friendly if he is, in fact, catering to the Sodom and Gomorrah clientele, and the answer will be "Oh of course not. Don't be such a big silly!" or words to that effect.

So whadda we do? Simple, fellow Blog-lodytes, go to the source. Over at GalPal's.com, they have a listing of pervert friendly parishes.

Now when Father Brucie over at St. Sugarbritches feigns ignorance about his parish being a gathering spot for the morally disordered, you can point out to him "well Father, YOU may not consider this parish to to queer-friendly... but THEY sure as hell do".

Might want to change the pic, Caveman: this looks to be a photo of a well-known United Church of Canada minister (I can't recall the name). He's the one that starting marrying gays first, and is a one-trick media pony.

Not a Catholic priest - Just FYI.

My son and wife live in Santa Monica, and attend St.Monica's down the street from their apartment...Yeah, I've been there and, Yeah, your sources are correct..however, the parish is also a vibrant, family oriented place, with a school and High School,....altogether a very good parish.
And Ahnod and his kids show up on occasion...he is really short, maybe about five-six with boots on.

I'm confused Tom. You state that my sources are correct, but then you state that St. Monica's is a vibrant, family oriented place... altogether a very good parish.

How can someplace that's "family oriented" and "a very good parish" also condone (if not advocate) a lifestyle that The Holy Bible describes as an abomination to God; Holy Mother The Church describes the act as intrinsically evil, and even the orientation as grave moral disorder.

Somethin' ain't jivin', bro. That don't sound vibrant, family oriented, nor very good. No matter how much lipstick one puts on a pig... well, you know where I'm going with that.

Oh, and Ahnold shows up? The same Ahnold that's in favor of butchering unborn babies? Lemme guess, I'll bet he rcv's Holy Communion, right?

If one desires "very good, vibrant, and family oriented" activities... go camping.

If one really desires worshipping God Almighty, I strongly suggest a Tridentine Latin Mass.

I read: the parish is also a vibrant, family oriented place, with a school and High School,....altogether a very good ... business.

I'm not a Catholic, but I am as miffed as the Caveman by seeing such a thing condoned and approved in a local fellowship.

This kind of stuff needs to be put out of the Church (entirely - BOTH in Catholic and Non-Catholic circles).

I appreciate and applaud your stance on holiness.

you have a point about "the governator"...I can't say I agree with the reception of communion by those who publicly profess pro-choice positions...however, as to those with homosexual leaning...we really do not know what is in their hearts...
Jesus does not condemn the sinner, but the sin, if I'm not mistaken..
and their presence, which some may say is a contradiction, does not take away from the other good things that this particular parish offers.
Maybe allowing a place for them to worship will turn their lives from immoral practice, and prompt them to reconciliation and return to the correct life that the Church expects of them.
After all, didn't Our Lord have dinner at the tax collectors table?

Interesting points you raise, Tom...

I'll address them one point at a time;

however, as to those with homosexual leaning...we really do not know what is in their hearts...

You're absolutly right concerning inward dispensation, Tom. And with what you stated, common sense also can tell us of the outward dispensation of one. You may not know if I find pornography sinful, but if I walk around with a t-shirt with a naked woman splashed in the front of it, that gives a fairly good idea of how I feel on the subject.

Jesus does not condemn the sinner, but the sin, if I'm not mistaken..

Again, you're absolutely right, to a point. Jesus never forgave unrepentant sinners. Those who remain obstinant in sin have the fires of hell to look forward to.

and their presence, which some may say is a contradiction, does not take away from the other good things that this particular parish offers.

Pollutants. Period. What good is a mouth watering beef stew if the mixing spoon has dog feces on it? 99% of what's in the pot is simply an excellent meal.... but would you eat it?

Maybe allowing a place for them to worship will turn their lives from immoral practice, and prompt them to reconciliation and return to the correct life that the Church expects of them.

Tom, do you really think these individuals are being told that what they're doing is sinful... or are their sinful acts being "accepted" as legitimate and correct? Think about it, bro... why is a lesbian website describing your parish as "gay and lesbian friendly"?

After all, didn't Our Lord have dinner at the tax collectors table?

Yep, He sure did... knowing darn good and well that said tax collector would renounce his evil ways forever.

Thanks for your responses. I appreciate the dialogue.
Since I am not omniscient, I can only hope (and pray, when I remember to) that the sinners at St. Monica, be they gay or otherwise, see the error of their ways.
As well as pray for both of us, to the same end.
Have a safe and worthwhile 2006.
Tom
