Sign of the Cross a Hate Crime

Yeah, this is a couple of years old... but it still pisses me off.

In a Politically Correct world gone mad, people very well could end up getting tossed in the hoose-gow for making the Sign of the Cross. Turns out that in the whacky and woolly world of professional European Kick-Ball, there seem to be some teams just for Catholics... some just for Protestants.

Turns out that the Catholic team in Scotland is Celtic and the prot team are the Rangers. Well, what do ya know... the Rangers don't like Catholics, and neither do the Ranger fans.

Whenever one of those good laddies from Celtic get ready for a penalty kick, many of them throw up a quick Sign of the Cross, being good Catholic boys, and all. And it turns out that the Ranger fans go positively apoplectic. "Sign of the Cross!!?? Damnable Papists!!!"

Now things start getting stupid. Riots break out, cars get torched, skulls get fractured, without fail... someone invariably get's an eye put out. But anyhow, to keep those drunken, unwashed, French loving Ranger hooligans happy, the Scottish Paliament is entertaining the notion to make the Sign of the Cross a Hate Crime. Mustn't upset the prot majority, you know.
