...But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others, Part II
Again with the Animal Farm theme

Just cruised through the somewhat Catholic Diocese of Raleigh website. I figured I'd hit their "Events" page and see what's shakin'.

For the most part, it was fairly routine. You know, priesthood discernment groups (I'm sure that heterosexual men that are orthodox in their Catholicism are more than welcome), seminars concerning the Bishops Annual Appeal (Begging 101), etc, etc.

But I did find some other rather interesting things on that page.
For the next three years, there are approx 117 events planned. The following specific groups have 57 events just for them!

  1. Women have two events. Gyno-Spirituality?
  2. To make sure little kids don't get raped, they have nine events. You're behind the power curve in this one, guys.
  3. Youth have fourteen events. Shouldn't those dovetail with the rape classes?
  4. Blacks (or is it African-Americans? I forget) have fourteen events. Wonderful Catholic celebrations, like Kwanzaa.
  5. Hispanics (or is it Latinos? I forget) have seventeen events. I have no idea what the specifics are , it was all in Spanish.
  6. In all fairness, I'm honor bound to point out that the diocese is planning on having one whole event dedicated to mystagogy (a method initially developed by St. Photius that provides a roadmap for keeping the catechumenate involved in the church). Wow, one whole class specifically for keeping a catechemen active. I'm overwhelmed.

Damn the luck. What exactly is a male of the species who is not particularly concerned about clerical violation, middle aged, half White/half Pacific Islander suppose to DO on my lonely, lonely Saturday nights?

Hey Diocese of Raleigh... great job of keeping your priorities straight!

My recommendations:

Reject Modernism. Study the Faith. Set a good example for your children and grandchildren. Be _Catholic_.

Other recommendations:

- Pray the Rosary and other traditional Catholic prayers.

- Pray that the Pope will teach Catholic doctrine.

- Associate with other traditional Catholics.

Notice how the Church dissenters imitate the political liberal agenda? Something for everyone = nothing for unity.
