The current Den Mother of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, William Cardinal Keeler, is giving an awful lot of his time and energy to a P.O.S. scum-bag murderer.... and damn little to the family of the 49 year old Teacher's Aide who had her brains blown out right in front of her two grandkids. Just to steal her purse.
But why is any of this a suprise to me? Warm and fuzzy, and pretty damned effeminate to boot, Keeler is the same one who said to a Jewish congregation that Pope Benedict XVI "reminds me of my mother". Sheesh... Keeler said he had spoken by phone over the past few days with Tyson's relatives. "They understood that we have to do what our conscience leads us to do," the cardinal said, declining to elaborate on their conversations. Karen Sulewski, whose children were with her mother when she was killed, said last night that she knew of the cardinal's visit and did not wish to comment.
Wow... Keeler CALLED the family on the phone, but said P.O.S. gets a jailhouse visit personally from His eminence? But I will admit, Mrs. Sulewski displayed a whole helluva lot more restraint then I could have.
The B'more Sun went on to say concerning the recent USCCB statement on the death penalty; The statement characterizes the administration of capital punishment as error-prone, biased and irreversible, and says that state-sanctioned killing diminishes all Americans. It also warns that the death penalty offers a false hope of healing to the survivors of crime and calls on Catholics to support those who have lost loved ones.
As far as "error prone", what error is there? There were two eye witnesses... the grandkids who saw grandma get her brains scattered all over the pavement.
"Biased"? Bullshit. The son of a bitch did it. May he rot in hell.
"Irreversible"? No shit. I certainly hope so.
"Diminishes all Americans"? Again, bullshit. I don't feel diminished. Do you?
"False hope of healing"? Funny, the absolute majority of family members of victims feel "closure" when the murderer of their family member gets executed, according to every single news report I've read.

We are in complete agreement, except on two points.
1) I hope he repents before his execution and finds forgiveness in God, so he can also be forgiven by his victim when his time in Purgatory is over. But then, I also hope against hope itself that we'll meet Hitler and Stalin in Heaven, where they'll spend a good deal of time explaining to all who will listen how stupid they were here on this plain.
2) I really don't trust a nation that allows the widespread slaughter of innocents (4,000+ daily!) to mete out death in the name of justice.
The more I stay and comment here, you'll eventually discover it, so I might as well out myself now. I am pretty anti-american, just not at all in the way lefties are. I think we, especially our elite, are a primitive and brutal society that could learn a lot from Dark Ages Europe in what it means to be civilised.

As you could tell, I was fairly hot under the coller when I penned this. Anyhow, I agree. I hope for his repentence as well. What irritated me to no end was the amount of time that Keeler gave to the murdereous scum, and how little he gave to the family of the victim.

I doubt Stalin is in heaven, much less Purgatory, although Hitler was reportedly Catholic.
As for the rest of your commment, I sympathise with your position, but I am not necessarily anti-American. In fact, there are many admirable qualities in the American people and their government -- as it was intended originally. American people can be quite generous, for instance, even if misguided. And American government *could* be a model of republican government for the world if it would simply acknowledge the Catholic faith in its Constitution.
Both flaws can be remedied over time. Meanwhile, my opinion is that we must pray for the rest of our people and for the government that they convert to the one, true Faith.
I am, however, thoroughly, anti-Modernist and would gladly return to the culture and Faith of our Fathers from, say, 500 years ago. Nowadays, we -- as a society -- really cant say that we have a culture or a Faith.

That's the part I was referring to when I said we are in complete agreement. :-)
This makes me sick. Keeler fawns all over the killer and talks briefly on the phone with the victim's family. This is as bad as Sr. Helen Prejean hanging out with the lust killer from Dead Man Walking.
