"This Isn't Just An Empty Meeting Hall Where People Come Together To Share Their Faith..."
It is a place where Jesus Himself is present and His Sacrifice is renewed at every Mass"

That is a dangerous notion. According to what I've seen in the particular Deanery I live in.

In the Cape Fear Deanery, I gets the definite impression that a "church" is nothing more than a glorified community hall.

But love, hate or indifferent to the SSPX, this is an interesting video. Just give it a few minutes. If it doesn't interest you, cut it off. But at least give it a fair listening to.

Especially in this Deanery (a veritable hot-bed of heterodoxy). Flat-out anti-Catholic attitudes and notions are subtly (and sometimes not too subtly) fostered from both the pulpits as well as "Catholic" classrooms.

Personally, I don't attend Mass as celebrated by the SSPX, but if there were one readily available locally, instead of my 5 hours + on the interstate every Sunday, I just might attend.

And for those that tut-tut me for having that attitude, attend the 3-Ring Circus that is "the Mass" at any of the Self-Worshiporiums here at the Cape Fear Deanery.

Cavey, I will not "tut-tut" you for that attitude. had their not ben an Easern Rite church in the town I lived i while in the zoo that is/was the Diocese of Raleigh, I would have gone to the Orthodox, just to get away from it.

And, the powers that be have said that the people who attend SSPX are not schismatics. While the Great Schism is almost a thousand years old.

The problem I see with RCIA is what I call the "Guru Factor". Lay peoplewho just really, really with they were cool and holy--priest fans, wanna be spiritual leaders, etc, flock to RCIA where they can live their "I'm a leader in the Church" fantasy.

The serious catholics stay away in droves. I think participation by lay people in RCIA, especially as sponsors, should be by invitation only, and only priests of proven orthodoxy allowed to conduct RCIA.

The priest who celebrates the Latin Mass for us (TLM) provides the catechesis for children preparing for First Holy Communion, for the older children getting ready for Confirmation, and for their parents who, after all, are the ones with primacy of jurisdiction over their own children in secular and religious matters. No "trained" parish/archdiocesan catechists are involved, thank God.

This is a superb teaching video! I do not as a habit criticize the SSPX, even though I am aware of their canonical irregularities that still exist even after Pope Benedict's recent exercise in charity. I also recognize that I would never hear heresy being uttered by their clerics, yet I have heard heterodox statements occasional come out of the official clerics of our Church. One thing that troubles me, however, is that the SSPX in Europe tends to be anti-semitic. This must stop!

A superb video

Note to BlogMaster: I think it is time to take down the Fighting Irish poster. They have betrayed our Great Catholic religion.

Believe me, Jerry... I've strongly considered that. But then I realized that it's the University President that's the idiot, not the University.

The uproar shows that there are still plenty of good Catholics associated with the UND.

Then again, there is also the matter of Fr. Richard McBrien, a professor of theology at ND. Of Catholic theology? I don't think so.

Ad,
Without a doubt, there are Quislings in Roman Collars at UND (and BC, and USF, and USD, and Villanova, and CUA, etc, etc, etc)

But there are alos faithful Catholics with the 'nads to stand up and fight. I really am trying my best (but fail with regularity) to remember the latter.

You mean it'll be a bad thing if I go to Innacuare Deception "Liberal Catholic Church" here locally?

All I want is for someone to hold me hand!!
