You Can Take The Girl Out Of The Country...
You know the rest

For those of you who frequent this blog, you know that my beloved is not only a Southerner (by the Grace of God)... she's also a convert. And with the fervent faith of a convert, she's made a few things abundantly clear to me. Such as:

1. God's a Southerner.

2. Ecumenism is best served when it's Southern-Fried.

3. And she couldn't agree more on the correct way to pronounce the Latin language.

And now the latest...

The other day our daughter stopped by. She and I were chit-chatting over something unimportant and mundane. The radio was tuned to the Catholic radio station, but there wasn't anything of particular note on at that moment in time. My wife was in the kitchen doing wifey stuff.

Turns out that the radio station changed their broadcast schedule. Without us knowing it, "Life Is Worth Living" was just coming on. Needless to say, my wife is crazy over Abp Sheen.

As soon as the intro music was playing, she comes storming out of the kitchen with her right thumb hitching over her shoulder (as only Southern women can do), and she made it abundantly clear; "ARCHBISHOP SHEEN'S ON!! Y'all need to shut-the-hell-up, o' leave! G'wan now... GIT!"

Needless to say, we done gitted.

With all due respect to your beloved bride, everyone knows God is an Italiano.

The truth is Moses made a wrong turn & ended up in Israel, not Italia where he was supposed to go.

God corrected that as quickly as he could by sending Peter there to set things right.

Seriously, she is right, when Archbishop Sheen comes on, you do need to listen. What he said all those years ago is still as fresh & needed today as when he 1st said it.

I am looking forward to the day when I can say that I saw a saint live & in person in the form of St. Fulton Sheen.
